A New Best Friend
Life gets pretty lonely down on the farm, even in a virtual world; so Farmville is offering a new best friend to keep you company as you complete those endless Farmville chores. Puppies have come to Farmville; and just like a real puppy, you can select the color you want and name your new puppy whatever you choose. Once your doggie is all grown, you can even teach him tricks just for the fun of it.
Even if you can’t fit a puppy into your Farmville budget, you may want one in the future; so stock up on Puppy Kibble right now. Ask your neighbors to send you kibble and treats before they disappear from the Farmville gift menu. You’ll need them.
Just Like a Real Puppy
Your Farmville pup will start out a furry little ball of fun that follows at your character’s heels wherever it goes. It will be playful and energetic; and like a real dog, you must feed it so it will grow. Your Farmville pup will require Puppy Kibble once each 24 hours; and it’s your job to make sure he gets it.
If you can’t remember when it’s doggie feeding time, hover your cursor over your puppy and you will see a digital display counting down to zero. When a Puppy Kibble balloon appears over his head, you’ll know it’s feeding time for sure. If you feed your dog properly, he will grow to adulthood in 14 days. Once grown he will perform tricks and helpful tasks around your farm.
Farm Cash Puppies
If you’ve checked out the Farmville Market, you may have noticed already; as with most Farmville offerings, your choice of Dog options will depend on your Farmville finances. For the farm gal or guy who takes their virtrual world of agriculture so seriously they don’t mind dipping into their pockets for real money, there are a range of Farmville Puppy choices at a cost of 65 dollars Farm Cash each.
-The Border Collie comes in black, red or chocolate. Once it’s fully grown, it can “work with other animals.”
-The Golden Retriever comes with your color choice of gold, cream or mahogany. When it grows up, it will be able to “fetch things for you.”
-The Sheep Dog can be purchased in white, black or gray. The grown Sheep Dog will help you “harvest sheep.”
-The Terrier is currently offered only in Honey. It will help you “harvest rabbits” when it’s fully grown.
Farmville Cash Dogs come with a 14 day supply of Puppy Kibble, so you don’t have to buy it from the Market or rely on neighbors to send the food you need. If you fail to feed your Farm Cash Puppy, it may get hungry and irritable, but it will not run away. That’s one major difference from Coin Pups that might make your 65 dollar Farm Cash investment a wise choice for you.
Farm Coin Puppies
The original Farmville puppy debut included a Border Collie for 300,000 in Farm Coins, the currency you accumulate by completing daily Farmville tasks. That price came with a choice of male or female; and three color options: red, chocolate or black. A Farm Coin Border Collie will perform like a Cash Border Collie once it’s grown.
About a week after Puppies first made their appearance on Farmville, the game creator, Zynga, added a less expensive Coin Puppy to its Marketplace. For 5,000 Farm Coins, you may purchase a Terrier. You may choose male or female; but the only color choice is Honey. Like a Cash Terrier, your Coin Puppy will be able to “help you harvest rabbits” when it’s grown.
Both Coin Puppies come with a few restrictions that don’t apply to their Farm Cash counterparts. Coin Puppies come with a 1 day supply of Puppy Kibble. This means you must purchase Kibble for 3 dollars Farm Cash per bag or depend on Farmville friends and neighbors to send them as gifts.
Both Cash and Coin Puppies must be fed a bag of Kibble every day for 14 days in order to grow to adulthood; but only a Coin Puppy will run away if you miss a scheduled feeding. The Cash Puppy will stay put. Retrieving a runaway Coin Puppy will require a yet-to-be named Farm Cash fee.
You will be able to teach all adult dogs tricks by rewarding them with daily Dog Treats available in the Market at a cost of 5 Farm Cash for 7 treats. You may also ask your Farmville neighbors to send them as gifts.
Whatever Farmville Puppy option you choose, watching your pet romp and play and grow to adulthood will add a new dimension to your virtual farm experience.
