No, this is not another cleverly-titled article about the World Cup. Although I DO think it is cleverly-titled, as recommended by Tony Payne and as my daughter has advised against (but who listens to their children?). I am also sorry that I do not have any pictures to accompany this article, but there are numerous ones to be found on the Internet as you’ll soon realize.
This article is about a statistic from the latest edition of Playboy magazine. It states that the average American bra size has increased from 34B to 36C in the last 15 years! Now this is evolution that Darwin could be proud of! Or proof positive that God answers prayers. Actually, I quickly realized that the former reason was highly unlikely and the latter is only partly responsible.
In 2006, breast augmentation passed liposuction and nose reconstruction to became the most popular cosmetic plastic surgery procedure. This procedure has been steadily increasing in popularity since 1992, when statistics for these procedures were first gathered.
According to one source, “Women have chosen breast augmentation for many reasons, but the most common is simply a way to feel better about the size of their breasts. Studies have shown that very few women opt for their procedure to please a partner, or to attract a partner. Far and away the most common reason is for the purpose of feeling better about their bodies.”
Getting back to my original source, I should tell you that I only subscribe to Playboy for the articles, but in this case I made an exception to do research for this article. It does appear that these women are feeling good about their bodies! Although I really wonder about the studies that claim that pleasing or attracting the opposite sex has nothing to do with it!
As a male, I would like to add this comment to women: While you are emphasizing your curves, don’t forget those below the waist! I do not care for the current fashion model physique at all! While some may have bosoms, almost none have any hips – they look like boys to me. Anyway, now that I have this article off my chest, I’m just surprised I beat Frank Mucci to it! [Editor’s Note: Frank was unable to be reached for comment.]
