The Best Place for Breakfast Anywhere
Wildberry Pancakes and CafĂ© in Libertyville, Illinois is the best place for breakfast ever! My family loves to eat out for breakfast and I have a lot of out of town company and everyone wants to eat all of their breakfasts at Wildberrys. I have been to Wildberry’s often and have never had a bad meal.
You will find Wildberry’s in Libertyville at the intersection of Rt. 21 (Milwaukee Ave.) and Buckley Rd. They are open daily from 6:30 AM until 2:30 in the afternoon serving breakfast and lunch.
Definitely worth the wait!
The food is divine and is the reason for the crowds. Expect long waits of up to an hour or more on the weekends. I’ve waited many times and it’s worth the wait. The atmosphere is upscale and welcoming and the staff do a good job turning tables over quickly and bringing your order quickly once seated.
Wildberry’s has the best pancakes I’ve ever eaten.
Their pancakes are light and tasty and well prepared. You may find bigger pancakes elsewhere but the difference at Wildberry’s is quality not quanity. However, the breakfast portions are huge in general. Their omelets are fluffy, cheesy and usually more than I can eat and their skillets are to die for. Omelets come with shredded hash browns or fresh fruit. Wildberry uses quality ingredients and you can taste it. Berry’s are all fresh and obviously there is a chef preparing your order, not just a cook!
I love their Venetian skillet and the ham and mushroom and cheddar omelet. Other favorites of my friends and family include the Homemade Corned Beef Hash Skillet, the Pecan Pancakes, Fresca Omelet, and the Mexicana Skillet.
Wildberry’s has outstanding fresh roasted coffee which is brewed to perfection, and stands up well to the fresh half and half served in little white pitchers with each cup. You’ll find no individual plastic creamers here. I disagree with other reviewers who say the coffee isn’t as good as it once was. I went there just this morning for breakfast and it was wonderful as usual.
Lunches are good at Wildberry’s but I recommend breakfasts. I have tried the Chicken Basil Panini and several of their large salads and all were delicious. But breakfasts are the speciality here and they all go so well with their coffee! Iced tea at Wildberry’s is a flavored jasmine concoction that I do not care for. I like ordinary American brewed iced tea and I can’t get this at Wildberry’s. Theirs is a flavored tea that doesn’t work for me. However, they have great fresh squeezed juices that are absolutely delicious so there are alternatives that are still good and the menu is large. Even though I have visited Wildberry’s dozens of times I still haven’t tried everything.
The best time to visit is a weekday. You’ll find no crowds then and service is more relaxed. Today I was asked if I wanted more coffee at least 6 times! I love eating at Wildberry’s so I go there every chance I get.
The prices are very reasonable and most items are in the $7 to $8 range.
I really like the fact that you can have either toast, a muffin or a small order of pancakes as a side dish with your egg entrees for no extra cost. Pancakes are small when done as a side dish but the egg dishes are so giant you can’t even eat everything anyway. I love the blueberry muffins here! They are are big, moist, delicious and full of big fresh blueberries. If you are a real pancake lover you probably want to order just pancakes because the side dishes are really small. If you want to get specialty pancakes like tiramisu cakes or pecan cakes along with your egg entree they let you do that for a small charge.
If there is a better place to go for breakfast I haven’t found it.
I give an A+ to Wildberry in Libertyville and so does everyone I ever took there. This is a quality restaurant and one that I would miss if I didn’t get to visit often. .
