I have read different reviews about Wii Fit Plus vs. Wii Active. Which one is better? From my perspective, I think they both have a lot to offer if you are able to get both. It is best to start with the Wii Fit Plus so that you can get the Wii Balance Board. The balance board can be used with the Wii Active to enhance the workout.
My favorite exercises on the Wii Active are the boxing and kickboxing. The Wii Balance Board is necessary for the kickboxing part. The boxing is good for cardio and getting out aggression. The exercise itself is short, so I so do it multiple times for better impact. The sport drills are the main reason I bought the Wii Active. I make up my own routines, although you can do the routines that come with the program. Basketball, baseball, volleyball, and tennis are fun ways of exercising in the Wii Active. I may not be so good at these sports in real life, but with Wii Active I can peform like a champ. I like to do my own routine on the Wii Active and then move on to the Wii Fit Plus. Sometimes I do them back to back, or other times I do them at different times of day.
Many things make the Wii Fit Plus worthwhile for me. I love the new exercises such as Rhythm Kung Fu and the Snow Ball fight. I have issues with balance and alignment problems, so I can really appreciate the yoga exercises and strength exercises that help focus on my posture. Many of the activities are helpful for strengthening the abdominal muscles. A great option for exercising and watching one’s favorite show is the free step. If I remember right this does not come up right away, but once you do enough activity you are able to watch television and do step aerobics at the same time. You just listen to the rhythm of the beat coming from the Wii remote. This option is available with the running as well. You can set up your own routines in Wii Fit Plus or do a combination of the routines they provide based on the workout you want.
One thing that keeps me going on the Wii activities is that they track your progress and if you are competitive at all, it encourages you to strive to do better and better. Sometimes I have spent more time than I intended because I wanted to improve and reach a certain goal. I encourage anyone who can choose both the Wii Active and Wii Fit Plus to do so to provide greater varieties of exercises that are fun and effective. You can work out all your muscles in both exercise routines and get some good cardio in as well. Wii Fit Plus vs. Wii Active? I can’t choose because I like them both.
