Who got voted off American Idol on April 28 was revealed Wednesday night. Who got voted off American Idol on April 28 was decided based on Tuesday’s performances of country music week, where the top 5 contestants all performed Shania Twain songs. It was an interesting night, where several of the remaining contestants showed that they could actually be pretty good at singing country if they decided to go in that direction. Those performances, unfortunately, would end up dictating who got voted off American Idol on April 28, and who would be making it into the Top 5 for next week’s performance show. In addition to that question was whether or not this episode of American Idol was going to run long as well.

Aaron Kelly
Casey James
Michael Lynche
The Girls:
Siobhan Magnus

Last week it was Tim Urban that went home, with Aaron Kelly and Casey James joining him in the bottom three. It marked an increase in votes for Michael Lynche, just a few shows after he had to be saved from going home by the American Idol judges. With strong nights during country week by Aaron Kelly and Casey James, it left everyone guessing about who might end up in the bottom three this week. Could it be three guys who have seen the bottom three before? Or were viewers in for a surprise.

With four guest performances planned for the April 28 results show (Rascal Flats, Sons of Sylvia, Lady Antebellum and Shakira),it also meant that there would probably be a long delay until the results were finally read. The elongated shows really are starting to seem like nothing more than a place for artists to plug their music, and not actually anything that is used to further the show itself. There are certainly quite a few viewers that tune in to see the contestants, and aren’t pleased when they try to pack in more celebrity-performers instead of having group numbers.
