Mother’s Day! One of the most loved holidays for mothers everywhere. This may also be one of the most “put off till the last moment” holidays. You know what I’m talking about, you’ve done it. Well, we won’t be waiting till the last minute this year, we will be prepared. Now let’s get started we’re running out of time.
Every mother is different and unique, so every mother needs to be treated differently. Not all mothers want just a bouquet of flowers. What does your mother like? Yet, remember this isn’t about what she likes all together because it’s not her birthday, it’s Mother’s day. You need to let her know how much you appreciate her. How could you let your mother know that you appreciate her driving you to dances in school, changing dirty diapers when you were an infant or even letting you get your favorite video game one night. Take a moment to remember all of the reasons you appreciate her. Tick tock, tick tock. Okay, times up, now let’s get started.
Is your mother a hard worker? Does she care for everyone but herself? Well, this Mother’s Day would be a great time to give her a little vacation. For this vacation she could probably go for a gift certificate maybe to a hair salon and nail salon. Does your mother’s body ache from all of the back breaking hours she puts in everyday before finally crashing into bed? Why don’t you think about taking her to get a massage?! Massages are always nice. Okay, maybe you’re strapped on cash, well we will look at this vacation from a different perspective.
Does your mother ever get to just lay in bed a relax? Breakfast in bed is always a winner. You can wait on your mother hand and foot for the day. Make it fun and give her a little bell to ring when she needs something. Make her feel special like she is truly on a vacation. Since she won’t be getting out of bed for the day, how bout you get away from the television or Internet and clean the house. Run errands for your mother. Just make her feel like a queen for the day.
Does mom enjoy the outside? Well, while we’re still on saving some cash, let’s go on a picnic. Get a basket or cooler, what ever you have for a picnic together. Make up a few of your mother’s favorite meals or desserts and take her to nice cool place outside for a picnic. This nice place could be a park or beach. Think of one of your mother’s favorite places.
OK, we are pass all of the unique mother stuff for now, let’s get to gifts. Of course, every mother should get a Mother’s Day card for her special day. These can run high sometimes, too. Go to your local discount store or Dollar Store. You could get a very nice card for only a buck. Don’t forget to write something meaningful in the card.
If you’re going to go with the gift ideas, flowers always go great with a card. What kind of flowers you get depends on your mother. She may be into roses or she may be a gardener and you can try to look for a plant or flower that she doesn’t have yet. She will really appreciate that.
If you really can’t think of a good gift that you know your mother will enjoy, gift certificates are always a winner. I wouldn’t put cash in a card because that is just to easy. I believe a mother would feel more appreciated with a gift certificate. The certificate could be to her favorite restaurant or store. Make sure it’s one she’s going to use though.
OK, this should give you a head start on the big day. Just don’t forget to tell your mother how much you appreciate her and give her a big bear hug!
