The Weeds season premiere for its sixth season on Showtime is on the horizon. Spoilers for the Weeds season premiere are already out there, and most notably show that the family will be on the run to begin the new season. This is going to be the sixth season premiere for Weeds, and will pick up with several cliff hangers that remained in the season finale last year. The interest level has been ramped up because of that, but also because Showtime has been advertising Weeds and The Big C almost non-stop on the network in preparation for its late summer seasons.
The Weeds season premiere is scheduled for Monday, August 16, and it will debut on the same night as the series premiere of The Big C. The first episode of Weeds is called Thwack, which is an obvious play on one of the sounds that ended season five. It’s probably a good idea to stop reading about here if you haven’t finished viewing season five, because we are about to provide quite a few spoilers from that 13th episode of season five.
The most dramatic moment of the Weeds season finale came when Pilar, a powerful woman in Mexico, that seemed to have her fingers in everything from the police to the drug cartels, was threatening Nancy (Marie-Louise Parker). She didn’t stop there though, as she threatened to kill her kids, and did it with such ominous conviction that it appeared as though Nancy had finally met the end of her luck. Looking on from Nancy’s point of view, the screen suddenly shows a croquet mallet swinging through and connecting with Pilar, sending her into the pool they were next to. The culprit? None other than Nancy’s 14-year-old son Shane.
The murder committed by Shane wasn’t the only cliffhanger to the season though, as Andy (Justin Kirk) had proposed to Dr. Audra Kitson (Alanis Morissette) only to abandon her when they found a protester with a crossbow sitting in their living room. Then there is Celia (Elizabeth Perkins) who stole the product of Silas (Hunter Parrish) and Doug (Kevin Nealon) and was planning to start her own business. Where will season six lead the characters? Well it appears that Nancy will go on the run with her family, trying to escape consequences from having a child with a drug kingpin, having her son kill an important woman, and past sins now catching up with her.
Make sure to tune in on August 16 to see the Weeds season premiere, because it will hold quite a few answers to where the show is heading next. It should definitely prove interesting, and might not be as pleasant for the characters as they have had it in the past.
