This article gives you the pattern and only the pattern. It does not teach you how to crochet. You will need to know how to crochet to complete this project. It’s possible that the type of yarn required to make this hat is no longer available. But you can substitue by using any similar yarn.
You may also want to check on eBay to see if someone is selling the exact vintage yarn that you need. If you do buy vintage yarn online, ask the seller if there is any musty smell. Yarn that smells musty will probably always smell musty no matter how you treat it. Also, ask if the yarn is still strong. Many fibers weaken over time and will break easily.
