by itchyfish

LIMA, PERU – According to CNN, skin DNA has been found under murder victim Stephany Flores’s fingernails. Could it be a match to 22-year-old Dutchman Joran Van der Sloot? If so, how will Van der Sloot explain it got there? Will he lie and say it happened during a moment of passion? It is possible the young Dutchman has already thought of the answer to that question. He appears to be staying one step ahead with his mind games. But, will the evidence be enough to convict Van der Sloot.

Peruvian authorities have charged the 22-year-old Dutchman with murder in the death of the 21-year-old woman, whom Van der Sloot met while at a poker tournament in Lima.

According to CNN, a court shows Flores had a cranial fracture severe injuries to her face and neck area, signs of asphyxiation was present. There were forensic test done and the discoveries were horrific, there was blood everywhere; it was on the floor, mattress and found out in the hallway.

Van der Sloot told Peruvian officials he attacked Stephany Flores after she read an email addressed to him. The email had information in it that pertained to the Natalee Holloway case. Van der Sloot admitted to elbowing the young business student in the face, he watched as she began to lose consciousness. He then took his shirt and put it over her face and killed her.

Van der Sloot later retracted his story saying he was tricked into signing a confession to the murder. He told a Dutch newspaper reporter from Del Telegraaf, he had no idea what he was signing. He didn’t even understand what was written in the document. He told the reporter, everything from the start was a set up to get him for extortion charges on the Natalee Holloway’s disappearance.

Prior to the Stephany Flores murder, Joran Van der Sloot extorted money from Natalee Holloway’s mother. Van der Sloot agreed to tell where Natalee Holloway’s body could be found for a hefty compensation.

Joran Van der Sloot has recently refused to speak with a Peruvian judge. The FBI has declined giving out any statements on the case, but did say it was an ongoing investigation. According to the CBS News’ “The Early Show” International Criminal Defense Attorney Dan Conaway explained that Van der Sloot refusing to speak with the Peruvian judge was not bad. The justice system is an inquisitorial system, and the judge acts like a prosecutor. So, their judges investigate and ask questions. So Van der Sloot not talking is his lawyers telling him to keep quiet during the investigation.
