Unlike other supplements, my personal experience with the effectiveness of ZMA supplementation is not incredibly noticeable upon initial use, particularly in terms of gains in strength and muscle growth. I have only used TwinLab ZMA fuel, and it is not a supplement I consider extremely important to my stack; however, it is definitely a supplement that needs to be used consistently and over extended periods of time.
TwinLab ZMA Fuel is decently priced. A 30-day supply generally costs $15-20. One of the things I appreciate about TwinLab ZMA Fuel is the relatively small capsules, that is, in comparison to some of the other TwinLab capsules (their amino acids, for example) that are quite large. Due to the fact that I cannot personally measure whether or not TwinLab ZMA Fuel is, in fact, leading to elevated levels of testosterone and growth hormone in my body, it is difficult to give a definitive review on this product. If anything, I do experience deeper and more restful sleep. I certainly wake up easier in the mornings when I am on TwinLab ZMA Fuel.
How to Take TwinLab ZMA
Before discussing how to take TwinLab ZMA Fuel, I must say that I don’t believe individuals under the age of 18 need to spend their money on this or any other ZMA supplement, for that matter. Due to the fact that the body’s natural production of testosterone and growth hormone are generally sky-high during adolescence, additional levels wouldn’t cause harm, but they wouldn’t be beneficial.
For those that would benefit from ZMA, however, make sure to take the capsules 30-60 minutes before bedtime. In addition, TwinLab ZMA Fuel and other ZMA products work best when consumed on an empty stomach. If food is consumed, just make sure that it is low in calcium. I personally stack TwinLab ZMA Fuel with casein before bedtime; in order for this to work, I take my serving of ZMA an hour before bed and then drink my Optimum Nutrition Casein immediately before sleeping. I have found the outlined method very beneficial.
