When it’s time to hire a sitter, break out that little black dress and enjoy a romantic evening with the one you love, there are three top romantic restaurants from which to choose in the St. Louis area. Whether you’re looking for a night out in downtown by the St. Louis Arch, an evening on the riverfront in St. Charles or a more casual romantic spot filled with chocolate delights St. Louis has what you’re after for one romantic evening of dining to be remembered.

Not many restaurants exceed the romantic atmosphere and exquisite cuisine that you will find at Faust’s Restaurant. Located in the Adam’s Mark Hotel at 315 Chestnut Street. When you arrive, a valet will park your car or if you prefer, there is metered parking nearby. Upon entering the restaurant, you will be overcome with the romantic Baroque style, white linen tablecloths and candlelit tables. It is as if the restaurant belongs to just the two of you. Be sure to dress for a memorable night of romance. The atmosphere is sweet involving the smooth soft sounds of a piano bar to play the soundtrack to your delightful evening of dining at Faust’s. The cuisine offered is Continental American Contemporary, Steaks. Their prices range from $25-$35 for just the entree, but with choices such as the pecan-crusted Colorado lamb with wild rice pancakes and a bourbon-rosemary glaze, your pallet will be satisfied. They also offer an extensive wine list with approximately 7,000 wines on hand and specialties including California and France. Jackets are required for the men.

If the riverfront of downtown St. Charles is more your romantic cup of tea, then choose a nice evening and dine at Lewis & Clark’s. Located at 217 South Main in St. Charles, Missouri, this restaurant is named after the explorers who made the St. Louis area famous. The romance of Lewis & Clark’s is enhanced when you request to dine on the outside balcony overlooking Main Street which runs parallel to the Missouri River in St. Charles. Their menu prices run between $15-$22 for an entree’ with one of their best selections being their Chicken Oscar which is chicken breast, crabmeat and asparagus spears topped with hollandaise and served on rice pilaf, but save room for their delicious desserts such as their turtle pie or chocolate peanut butter pie, and their fine selection of wines. When you dress for this romantic evening at Lewis & Clark’s, make sure your shoes allow you to walk on the cobblestone streets in the quaint downtown shop-lined St. Charles Main Street which only adds to the romantic experience.

Finally, if you’re looking for a more casual romantic evening out, consider the Chocolate Cafe‘ in O’Fallon, Missouri. Located on Hwy. K and Hwy. 40, this small cafe’ offers romance on a casual level. Most of their cuisine contains some form of chocolate, a very romantic touch to any elegant evening. You can dine inside or on their outside patio as you choose from their selections of specialty desserts to soups, salads and more unique cuisine. Finish off your evening with a chocolate martini or any number of selections from their fully-stocked bar.

Whichever location you decide is most romantic for the two of you, these are the top 3 romantic restaurants in the St. Louis area.
