When you are looking for on-line opportunities to make money from home you will find literally thousands of sites to join. Always do a little research before you join any site because after you join you might find some bad news about the site. Some sites expect you to work all day and at the end of it all you might make .50 cents. This isn’t a good use of your time and a job at a local fast food place would pay more. So how do you know? Look at what other members are saying.
Do a search on the site. I like to type in key words with the sites name like “XMONEYPAGEXYZ.com Delete Account” or “Payment from XMONEYPAGEXYZ.com”. The results are always very bad. I see people that have been members for months complaining about a $3 payout when the limit is $20.00 to withdraw your money. Some of these people have been working the site like a day job only to find out that they didn’t make enough to pay their dial-up Internet service bill.
Now I have always said that something is better than nothing but some of these sites will not be worth the effort. If you do join one and then decide to delete your account there will not be an option in your account settings that allows for deletion of your account. So why do they do this? It makes the site look like there are a lot of active members and traffic. Some sites may allow you to request that your account be deleted but all of your posts, pictures and articles may remain on the site indefinitely.
Another way to check out a site before joining it is to look at the FAQ’s pages. See what kind of payouts and options they have available and also check to see what they have in their terms of service agreement. A lot of sites are not allowing an option to delete your account now because the owners know that if they do that the numbers will shrink quick, especially if it is a very low paying revenue sharing site. There have been more articles written about this lately than one could read and doing a little research can save you a lot of time and headaches later.
If you do join a site that does not allow you to later delete your account you can contact administration at the site and ask them to delete the account for you. Most likely they will always ask why you want to delete the account. Always tell them that there are legal issues or some really important issue that requires the total deletion of the account and then follow up by searching for your old account page, photos or material that you wanted to have deleted. By telling them that there are legal issues you can almost be sure that they will delete the entire account because they do not want your issues to affect their site later.
The best advice is that you should always research anything that requires private information in order to sign up. Also, beware of any site that asks for your phone number, address, social security number or any private information unless it is a legitimate job website that you have throughly researched and checked for scam activity. Look at the forum or comment pages and check for upset members that are having problems with the site. Most of all do not let a website tell you that you are worth .50 cents a day, or less, for all of your hard work. As of the time this article was written there are no laws that state there is a minimum wage for on-line work but you can bet that as our economy turns to a work at home economy that legislation will surely be passed that protects the work at home work force. Until that happens it is up to you to do your research and carefully choose who you work for.
