You know, you would think that Christmas party time was the hot season for stylists. Nope. It’s now. Because in the New Year, people start thinking about making changes to, doing something different, or looking for a pick me up for the winter blahs. Add that to the fact that award season in Tinseltown is winding down and everyone is wanting to look like their favorite celeb that graced the red carpet. If you are looking for a lift to your winter look and want a bold change that won’t affect much of your length or overall style, why not look at bang hairstyles?
If you are considering bangs, why not consider something blunt and go with a bold fringe bang look that is hot, hot, hot right now. This look is a little heavier than fringe bangs, and actually offers a little more polish to the look. But make sure you have someone do it for you, and by that we are not referring to your little sister. Yes, this is a job for a stylist. Because it will go one of two ways look at celebrity hairstyles – the Naomi Campbell look, or uh, Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm. And no, you don’t want that. But if you are considering the blunt bang, be warned that these are NOT for everyone. You have to have them done right, and you have to have the right hair. Here are some tips and tricks that will help you decide if bangs are the right look for you.
1. What to tell your stylist – You want THICK blunt bangs all across your brow, and this is precisely what you want to tell your stylist. Ask him or her to cut your bangs from the top of your head. Ask them to do a radial part and take it from there. Now, this is a lot of hair that will be chopped, so…..prepare yourself. Don’t look if you can’t. Again, if it’s done right, it will be VERY pretty.
2. Bangs Do NOT Work For Everyone. This is a look you just can’t play with if you don’t have the right hair, you will find yourself very frustrated. Anyone that has NO NATURAL WAVE in their hair will do fabulously with the big bang. Don’t fuss with the cowlicks, it just won’t happen. If you have poker straight hair, this will work for you.
3. How To Maintain – Yes, this is a look that will require some maintenance, but the payoff will be worth it. You will need pomade for hold, because you want them to stay in place all day. Pomade and either a flat iron or curling iron will put them in place. Run pomade through your damp hair, and after it has dried and you have styled, pinch a few ends of your bangs to hold them in place all day.
