The Ellwood City, PA area has it’s share of great restaurants, maybe even a little too many. However, if you are in the mood for a romantic getaway three choices stand out among the rest. While all three offer something unique, all offer a great place to sit and talk while enjoying a great meal. Sometimes, just sitting back and relaxing without the cell phone ringing or the kids calling for help can provide for the most romantic of evenings. That being said here are my picks for the three best romantic restaurants in the Ellwood City, PA area:
Shakespeare’s Restaurant located at 1495 Mercer Road in the same location as Olde Stonewall Golf Course is a great place for a quiet meal out. The menu is fantastic, and the ambiance can not really be beat. The castle themed setting just makes for a romantic dinner, who does not love castles? Every piece of décor just helps enforce the fact that you are someplace else and not having dinner by a golf course. The magic just makes Shakespeare’s a fantastic place for a romantic meal.
At 911 Lawrence Avenue you can find Jergels. Jergels prides itself on reasonably priced menu with a festive atmosphere. While many would opt for a quiet night out, dinner at this place with the great live entertainment can produce more of romantic atmosphere than anyone would expect. The nightly specials make getting out during the week a special treat as well, because the weekends are not always the best time to escape. The lively atmosphere provides for the chance to catch a romantic meal, then join some friends is having a good time, or just continue to enjoy each others company. Either way the choice is yours!
Over in Chippewa a short distance from Ellwood City is Applebee’s. Of course Applebee’s is a chain restaurant, but it represents a nice drive to get away without going too far. The atmosphere here is usually fairly subdued compared to the busier restaurants in nearby Cranberry Township. Better yet this restaurant is perfectly located near several theaters and shopping locations which makes your night out easy to complete with a few short stops, and allows for ample talking time between destinations.
All things considered, a romantic meal is what you make of it. Whether it is a first date or a special night with your wife, choosing the right atmosphere means a whole lot more than getting the menu right. No matter which restaurant you choose, a night of chatting comfortably will be the part either of you remember.
