Here’s my take on the best deals on school supplies this week. I’m covering six national chains so hopefully there will be at least one store near you. All six of these stores happen to be within easy driving distance of my home. Whether you want to save money on your own children’s school supplies or are looking to donate school supplies to a local school or charity, hopefully this information will help you save money. If you would like general information on saving money on school supplies please see my previous article, 6 Great Sources for Cheap School Supplies.
The stores aren’t listed in any particular order but (after my commentary) the deals are listed from lowest to highest price (after rebates, if applicable). All of the deals are as advertised in my local Sunday paper’s sale flyers but deals may vary by location so be sure to double check prices at your local store before completing your purchases.
So glad that Staples is doing their 1 cent notebook deal again this year! Although this year they are requiring a $5 minimum purchase you could easily meet that by getting the free after $15.99 rebate Staples slim-line pencil sharpener or several of the other great deals. Unfortunately this year the 1 cent notebooks are limit six per household (versus six per customer), but it’s still a good deal if you are getting other items at Staples or want the pencil sharpener for yourself or for a donation.
