What do you do with left over wallpaper? If you have ever wallpapered a wall, you probably have had some wallpaper left over after the project was finished. Do or did you just throw the extra away or did you do something else with it? There are several things that can be done with left over wallpaper including creating a jigsaw puzzle, using it as shelf or drawer liners, creating place mats from it, creating a folding screen from it, making book covers, creating a room organizer or even making wrapping paper for a gift.
Creating a jigsaw puzzle from left over wallpaper is easy to do. You will need a piece of cardboard the size that you would like the finished puzzle to be or the size of the piece of wallpaper that you have, scissors and glue. Glue the piece of wallpaper to the piece of cardboard. Allow the glue to dry then cut the jigsaw puzzle pieces out of the wallpaper. Now you and your children can have a good time putting the customized jigsaw puzzle back together again.
Shelf or drawer liners can be made from left over wallpaper. You will need a pair of scissors and a tape measure as well as the left over wallpaper. Measure the drawer or shelf and cut the wallpaper to the measurements that you took. Wallpaper makes good shelf or drawer liner because it is heavier than most shelf paper that is bought at the store. Plus it will match your kitchen if that is where you used the wallpaper on the wall.
Placemats are another project for the kitchen where left over wallpaper can be used. Placemats can be made two different ways. For the first way all you need is scissors, spray acrylic and the left over wallpaper. Cut the wall paper in the shape you want your placemats to be then spray it with the acrylic and you are finished. For the other way to make placemats you will need cardboard, scissors, glue and the wallpaper. Cut the cardboard and the wallpaper in the designs you wish then cover the cardboard with the wallpaper and glue in place.
A folding screen can be decorated with left over wallpaper. Simply cover the folding screen with the left over wallpaper. Glue the wallpaper in place.
Book covers are one more project to do with left over wallpaper. You will need the wallpaper, scissors and tape to complete this project. You will also need a pattern or make your pattern for a book cover. Cut the wallpaper to the pattern and tape it in place on the book you are covering.
Room coordinators can be made using left over wallpaper. When canisters, planters, trashcans and other things in the room are covered with left over wallpaper then the room has a more customized appearance.
Wrapping paper one more use for left over wallpaper. Left over wallpaper, scissors, scotch tape and the gift box are all that is needed to finish this project. Use the left over wallpaper as you would gift wrapping paper.
