There is an epidemic sweeping this nation and it appears to be affecting every single small and large group of Americans country-wide. This disease has no know cure and many in the medical community do not know how to treat it. Everyone can diagnose the problem but that is as far as it goes. The disease is the Oh-whoa-is-me disease.
I have surfed the internet and the television and have seen undisputed evidence that this disease is rampant in our society. Every single group is dissatisfied with the way the Obama Administration is handling almost everything and when questioned it’s always the same. “Members of these groups feel as though the Obama Administration is not involved enough in the perils that they face.” “They feel as if no one from this administration is paying close enough attention to them.” Because of that the cable news is taunting a new poll which sees him favorable numbers declining. Now those pundits are asking what he can and should do to bring his numbers up. I’ll tell you what he can do, nothing.
A veteran organization leader was on television the other day complaining that the Obama Administration had not replaced the director of a VA program yet and that must mean that they are not engaged. I was disappointed to hear that this leader was not asked if he was aware that many of his appointments are still being blocked by those in congress. There is one prominent commentator who keeps complaining that he does not see a distinct leadership line from this White House and yet no one asked him exactly what it is that he needs to see. Two well-known governors have complained about the administration lack of action in the BP Oil Spill while now decrying this administration moratorium on offshore drilling. Enough is enough.
This country does not govern itself which is why the President of the United States has such a large staff around him. Each has been chosen to manager a particular part and each much do their part in order for the operation to move forward. Instead of blaming everything on one man, why don’t we try holding congress accountable for the part that they must play. Democrats in the Senate seems to not have the balls enough to change that 60 vote rule and pass the laws necessary to address all of the pressing problems facing this nation and the Republicans seems not to have the spine to help restore the faith in its leaders that this nation has to have to realize its potential. Everyone tends to call one name when things do not go the way they think things should yet fail to hold accountable those who have also been voted into office to help make thing happen like they should.
As long as there are no consequences for the Democrats to stop play patsy and start doing their jobs, they will continue to exist balls less. As long as there are no consequences for the Republicans to stop with this supporting of big business over the public and this stop Obama at every turn thing then they will continue to be spineless. The only group that continues to suffer consequences is the public and as long as they continue to allow those elected to serve them to get away with not doing their part we will continue to suffer. The cure for the oh-whoa-is-me disease is to start making those not doing their part to start crying oh-whoa-is-us.
