When the snow is all gone, the flowers pop out of the ground, and the birds start chirping, everyone has a bittersweet feeling creep into their heart of hearts. On the one hand the cold weather is subsiding and soon the colors of Spring will flood the world. However, on the other hand the dread of “Spring Cleaning” creeps quickly along with these happy thoughts. While a clean room, apartment, or house are all great feelings once complete, the road to “spick and span” sometimes is a rocky one. One of the simplest jobs, but still one the list of the top hated chores to complete when cleaning is…. Dun dun dun…. The bathroom floor! From the smells of the cleaners to the gritty mess around the toilet, the bathroom floor is a huge contender for the most hated cleaning chore necessary to complete for a clean house.
Not only is the bathroom the main place in your house where cleanliness is a priority, it is the place also that makes it hard to attain those goals. From the daily grime of feet getting out of showers, makeup, products, and all the other grime associated with a bathroom, it becomes a mess quickly. Not only does the dirt on a bathroom floor pile up fast, it is the one place that requires you to be naked around this dirt. The wetness and steam seems to seal the dirt to all surfaces, making cleaning it one of the least pleasant chores around.
The Process of Bathroom Floor Cleaning:
First when you finally admitted to yourself, “Yes, this can’t go on any longer, I must clean the floor,” that is when the pain sets in. You have to move out all the extra things to clear away the floor, take out the product bottles, and everything that you don’t want to taint with that harsh chemical cleaner smell.
Then comes the cleaning… Now depending on how you clean your floor, you either have to stand with a mop of some kind or get down on your hands and knees with a rag, brush, or sponge to hand clean the floor. Either way, the job is not fun or easy. Tons of hair from the daily knot removal is collected. Renegade toothpaste that escaped from your toothbrush is smeared. Even the bits the never made it into the trashcan are being collected and impossible to pick up.
However, worst of all, the floor does not end in front of the toilet seat. Oh no, you have to get down on your hands and knees and reach behind that porcelain god to clean all the grim that migrated there since your last venture into clean bathroom floor land. The junk back there is unbelievable! Hair, dust, maybe even mold, and random fallen accessories are discovered in a very unpleasant way.
You finally finish, but the floor is so wet and you yourself are dirty from cleaning, that you can’t walk out of the bathroom without making those horrible dirt prints, that you have to wipe up as you exit the room. If that’s not be enough, you also have to wait till the floor is dry to finally put all the stuff back in. And it all better be clean too so to not quickly dirty the floor you just suffered through cleaning.
But lastly, you yourself need to shower. And where is that done? In the bathroom of course! You clean away the dirt, much, and grime from your cleaning adventure, step out of the shower to grab a towel, and step onto that mat on your newly cleaned floor. After this you dry off and step onto your floor… and begin contributing to the dirt all over again.
