The West Wind Sacramento 6 Drive In located at 9616 Oats Drive in Sacramento California is a great place to go to see a movie. The West Wind Sacramento 6 Drive In is the only Drive In left in the Sacramento area. There used to be many more Drive Ins around town but this is the last one. Sacramento is not the only place where the Drive In is becoming a thing of the past. If you go to the West Wind Sacramento 6 Drive In you will know why the Drive In is a part of classic Americana.
One thing that I always loved about a Drive In is that instead of getting to see one movie you get to see two movies, and that is how it is at the West Wind Sacramento 6 Drive In. Not only to you get two movies but you get two movies and pay less then you would if you went to the regular movie theaters. In fact on Tuesday nights the West Wind Sacramento 6 Drive In has a cheaper price for their movies so you can get an even better deal by paying one low rate for an entire car load of people.
It used to be that Drive In movies ran older movies, movies that were not brand new but not yet at the dollar theaters. Fortunately for some reason that has changed in the last few years and now movies come to the Drive In as soon as they come to the regular movies. This adds to the value that you get watching the movie.
The West Wind Sacramento 6 Drive In does have a small food concession location with bathroom in the middle from where movies are projected from. I have heard many complain about the inside of the bathrooms, and how run down the whole place is. To be honest I think most Drive In movies are pretty old and that they do not do much upkeep on them so I think that the West Wind Sacramento 6 Drive In is standard for a a Drive In. I only head over there if I need to go to the restroom during intermission, and I have seen much worse facilities at other locations outside of a Drive In so while it might not be super nice there is nothing wrong with it.
One of the great parts of going to a Drive In is bringing food. You can bring your own candy, popcorn, or what is popular with friends and family is to get a $5 Little Caesar pizza and eat it at the Drive In. Besides bringing your own food you can bring blankets or chairs. Taking a van and flipping the seats and opening the door may be an option, or taking a truck and sitting in the bed is also a popular option. The one downfall of the Drive In is that the sound quality is not as good though not bad, but the visual quality may be poor depending on the night you go, if it is not dark enough you can not see as well and a at the West Wind Sacramento 6 Drive In one particular screen has a lot of outside lot that makes it hard to see. One final thing that can be bad about the West Wind Sacramento 6 Drive In is that sometimes they have odd mixes of movies, I have been to many other Drive Ins that try to mix movies like two kids movies together but the West Wind Sacramento 6 Drive In does not seem to use any logic or reason when putting movies together. Sure I have seen two G rated movies together but I have also seen a G movie followed by an R rated movie. You should call ahead and decide on what movie you want to see before coming.
All in all the West Wind Sacramento 6 Drive In is a great experience. You get a good value. Besides the value you also are getting the ambiance and memories. I always try to go to the Drive In at least once a year during the summer and try to make it more if I can.
