The Sugar Shack is the perfect place to get your sugar fix when you are vacationing on Tybee Island in Georgia.
During a recent trip to Savannah and Tybee Island, I stopped at the Sugar Shack for their hand-dipped ice cream. I’ve eaten there on several occasions since I used to live on Tybee Island.
The Sugar Shack has been a tradition on Tybee Island in Georgia since 1971. It’s a casual eatery within walking distance to the beach on the Atlantic Ocean. If you are looking for a fun restaurant for casual dining in Savannah or Tybee Island, you can’t go wrong here.
The Sugar Shack is the perfect place to bring the kids, even if they are wearing flip flops and have sand in their hair. Tourists and Tybee Island locals in the mood for burgers and ice cream frequent The Sugar Shack.
The Sugar Shack is one of the first restaurants you see as you drive on 1st Street on Tybee. Look for it on the left hand side of 1st Street as you are headed for the beaches or on the right side as you are headed off of Tybee Island.
Here are a few of the best highlights from the menu depending if you are there for breakfast, lunch, dinner or stopping in for ice cream:

I love their old-fashioned floats and malts. My son is partial to banana splits which are great if you need a major sugar fix at The Sugar Shack.
