“A journey is a person in itself; no two are alike. And
all plans, safeguards, policing, and coercion are
fruitless. We find that after years of struggle that we
do not take a trip; a trip takes us.” — John Steinbeck
Even though the day just started and I just found my way to my desk, I’m already counting down the hours until clock out time. Am I being selfish to want to go home so badly even though I feel burnt out? I am blessed to have a job with the benefit of being able to pay my bills. But yet still, this is just me being me. But “please be patient with me God is not through with me yet.”
“Walking gets the feet moving, the blood moving, the mind moving. And movement is life.” ― Carrie Latet
I entered into a world not my own but comfortably made myself at home. I walked into a room with a break in card key but found a place to rest my thoughts. I turned on the light without hiding and passersby saw a glimpse of me through the window. They heard my song and shared the news of it but when they came to the room, just my shadow was there. Now they know I exist in the truth. I’m in this place unwelcomed trying to gain my place and I truly believe that “when God gets through with me. I shall come forth as pure gold.”
“Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.” ~Chief Seattle
Sometimes you need an ear to just listen. You do not have to agree with everything a friend does but a true friend will not judge, clown or disrespect you for it. Who said we were perfect? Our job as friends is to listen, acknowledge, and to give friendly advice even if it is not taken. We meet new people everyday. But… true friends don’t weave in and out of our lives. Circles never end.
“One piece of log creates a small fire, adequate to warm you up, add just a few more pieces to blast an immense bonfire, large enough to warm up your entire circle of friends; needless to say that individuality counts but team work dynamites.” ~Jin Kwon
I’m in peace mode in my zone when I have my coffee cup filled in my hand after a productive band rehearsal. Practice, practice, practice makes better. But not perfect. Nobody is perfect. But when teams work together harmoniously, it feels perfect. To peace and unity. Playing is all love; Love for the soul of music.
“Time is a dressmaker specializing in alterations” – Faith Baldwin
I smile because despite the downs there were ups. That’s life! And this is mine. All the makeup in the world still cannot mask my truth; I’m human! And all my colors are what make me, me; even when my beam fades. I am aware! I know who I am. I know who I’m not. And I know that God is not through with me yet.
“Love must be as much a light, as it is a flame.” ~Henry David Thoreau
I can’t lie; I don’t know what love is. I know it goes beyond the physical. Is the dictionary definition the true meaning? Can someone else tell you what you are truly feeling? Then I turn around and realize God is love; A love that is beyond patient. And nobody has to tell you it is real because God reveals his truth to us unconditionally. So I maybe I do really and truly know what love is because it’s apparent in God’s love. us on a daily basis despite ourselves. Maybe I do know what love is because God permits me to know. “If life gives you limes, make margaritas; [Preferably with salt on the brim]” – Jimmy Buffett Talents used To be a currency in the Bible That used To be given as payment for work. Imagine how blessed we really are for the talents God has blessed us with. Don’t hide them or let them be wasted. Use them and appreciate your gifts. Let your light shine and get jiggy with loving the you that God made you to be. Remember the joy That God gives, the world didn’t give it nor can they take it away. “Every tomorrow has two handles. We can take hold of it with the handle of anxiety or the handle of faith.” – Henry Ward Beecher We do things in life & are often dealt with criticism from those we call haters. U R invisible 2 them until they have something negative 2 say. The rocks they sling might hurt, but don’t let them bruise. Use those rocks 2 your advantage. No need to get angered or curse. Your keeping on is a weapon that cuts deeper. Wit h faith, nothing is impossible. If you are 2 believe in anything, believe in yourself & never stop.h faith nothing is impossible. “Somewhere, the ocean crashes back and forth like so much broken glass, but nothing breaks. Against itself, it is quite powerless.” – Chase Twichell
I walked into the house last night and still with my work clothes decided, let me just lie down for a second. That was at about 9:45. When I turned my head back to look at the clock, the time said 2:30 in the AM. Funny how when your body is tired, there is nothing that can keep you from sleeping and sleeping well.
When you can come in from a days long work and skip dinner for sleep and claim that individual you time you need without tossing and turning, you realize how much at peace you really are with yourself. Don’t let BS make you lose sleep. We all go through our stuff. Let your sun shine anyway.
“Every man dies. Not every man really lives.” -William Wallace
It’s crazy how we envision life. Life is too short to let little petty things take our joy away. It’s funny how in those moments when life flashes before our eyes, how faith seems to buildup inside. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. There is day when all will sleep forever. No matter how good we think we are all fall short of the glory of God. But thank God for Jesus. Be faithful even unto death and never let go of God’s unchanging hand. Often times, when we fail and come to an uneasy road, we feel tempted to throw in the towel. Things do get better. Remember this. It’s not all about us. The more we let others in, the more we will realize that there is somebody else who can relate to the things you experience. Speak to them. Ask questions. Show love today for those you truly love and for yourself. And don’t ever let go of God’s unchanging hand. Pray! Have faith in him and in yourself.
“After I had given up to go, the thoughts of the journey were often attended with unusual sadness, at which times my heart was frequently turned to the Lord with inward breathings for his heavenly support, that I might not fail to follow him wheresoever he might lead me.” – John Woolman
