The Dell Lightning Phone Review

by itchyfish

Dell’s roadmap leaked out on Wednesday which obtained details of many of the electronics maker’s upcoming products. This included details of the upcoming Dell Lightning, Smoke, and Thunder phones. As well as a “looking glass” tablet. In this article I will discuss the details of the Dell Lightning Phone.

The Dell Lightning Phone’s Service Providers
Service for this phone is provided through AT&T, and T-Mobile. The phone should be available to own towards the end of 2010. Also, another model of this phone called the LTE will be available towards the end of 2011.

How Much Money Will The Dell Lightning Cost?
The Dell Lightning phone could cost $150 to $200 with a three year contract from either AT&T or T-Mobile. Of course it will cost more money if you don’t have an upgrade available and you just want this phone.

Features and Advantages of The Dell Lightning
The Dell Lightning has many great things about it. Start off with the QWERTY keyboard which is one of the favorites of a smartphone today. But add many other exciting details to that! The phone has an innovative design with unique curved glass. The Dell Lightning is also a slider phone, which runs on the new and upcoming Windows Phone 7 operating system. This is a very sleek and new operating system which makes everything easily organized and easy to find. It also features features HSDPA 7.2Mbps 3G connectivity, which is available through AT&T and T-Mobile carriers. The phone uses a 1GHz (QSD8250) Snapdragon processor, and includes 1GB of flash and features 512MB of RAM. The phone also includes an autofocusing 5MP camera is on the back of the device. I know that the camera would be one of my favorite features about this phone because autofocus is what I love about my digital camera. Having this feature would make my phone into a portable camera and I wouldn’t have to bring my digital camera everywhere. The Dell Lightning will also have GPS, an accelerometer, a compass, FM radio, and full Flash video which includes video playback. The Flash video is something that I am extremely excited about, because I own a Blackberry, and play music videos on it however they are definitely not as fast as Flash video. This is something that I would really love to have on a phone.

Comfort and User-Friendliness
This phone would be fairly easy to use. Windows 7 is the easiest operating system available because everything is so organized. The phone would be ideal for anyone, except for the elderly. Unless you are elderly and familiar with technology and things such as computers. The phone would be ideal for people that love to text message because of the QWERTY keyboard that slides out from underneath the phone.

I can’t wait for the Dell Lightning Phone to come out. I definitely want this phone. It sounds like a phone that anyone could be excited about. With the great new ideas that Dell developed such as having Flash, video playback, and Windows 7 on a sleek, slider phone, who wouldn’t love it?
