The Day I was Twitter Attacked by a Socialist

by itchyfish

One day last week, I was minding my own business when out of the blue, a socialist attacked me via Twitter. Earlier in the day I sent the following tweet to one of my followers thanking him for retweeting one of my tweets.

WalterHade: Sweet! Thanks for the RT. We’ve got to spread the word. We must take our country back. Remember in November!

Later that morning, a random black woman sent me the following tweet. After reading my conservative blog she asked that I not use her Twitter name when I write a rebuttal to her comments because she does not want to be associated with my blog. For this purpose I will refer to her as “Socialist” throughout the rest of this article. I copy and pasted her Twitter posts so as to be completely accurate with what she said.

Socialist: what does take our country back mean exactly?

WalterHade:Take our country back means fire the elected officials who are ignoring the will of the people.

Socialist: well he’s not ignoring my will. I want EVERYONE 2 have healthcare and a job. I want a better school system. I’m a teacher.

Socialist: where were the tea parties when bush drove us into a depression? He implemented NCLB,which destroyed education.

Socialist: He allowed milliona to lose their jobs and homes.Wars? That’s when we needed our country back. So I’m not buyin that.

Socialist: but hre is wht I think it means. thr is a BLACK man runnin the country. He is ruining the system of the rich get richer & poor stay broke as hell.

Socialist: the blacks R no longer bein ignored as we have bn n the past..when yall so called had ur country.Ur ideals r not shared by many.

Socialist: the Tea Party mob’s motives r very UNAMERICAN. With @sarahpalin (the queen of ignorance)as ur leader, TP r dividin the country.

Socialist: the tea party is creating hatred. Most of the tea partiers are RICH.

Socialist: the tea party is creating hatred and racism. Not a classy look.

At this point in the Twitter argument, I had said only two things. The first was a comment to a fellow conservative and patriot. The second was simply explaining what “take our country back” means to me – fire the elected officials who are ignoring the will of the people. To my knowledge, this black woman had not yet read my blog. The only information she likely had about me was what is written in my Twitter profile and my picture on Twitter. I am a white male. From this information alone, this black woman made assumptions, started to attack me and somehow turned this into a race issue. Here is my next reply.

WalterHade:Wow! This is not a race issue to me. I just want the gov’t out of my life. Stop taxing me to pay for anybody else.

Socialist: who are u being taxed to pay for? Ppl that can’t afford to by medicine or see the doctor? Healthcare shouldn’t b a priviledge.

Socialist: what kills me is tht their r soooo many anti-abortionist.They want 2 protect a life that’s unborn but don’t care about livin ppl

I told the socialist that I planned to write a rebuttal to some of her comments and views. I then asked her to check out my blog and some of my articles concerning Obamacare. She did so and then asked me not to associate her in my rebuttal or anywhere on my blog. I also posted an unrelated tweet saying that I thought it was cool that Herman Cain was doing Neal Boortz’s show with a negro dialect. That is where part of this next post comes from.

Socialist: I am truly disappointed that as Americans we have not evolved.Theres no such thing as nergo dialect.

WalterHade:Can I refer to you as “a random liberal” if I write that rebuttal? You’ve given me really good ideas to write about!

Socialist: IM NOT A LIBERAL…refer to me as an intelligent African American woman….because that is what I am.

WalterHade:I am not sure how that would sound in an article: “An intelligent African American woman disagrees with my views.”

WalterHade:also, I don’t believe in the term African-American unless it is describing the rare person who has dual citizenship.

Socialist: well in that case u shouldn’t refer to me at all…that is what I am. I am of African decent and I am an American.

WalterHade: I am an American-American. I am of American decent and I am an American.

Socialist: if you are going to write anything it should be fair and balanced. Also, I am intelligent…I have three degrees.

She claims that she is not a liberal and I refuse to use the term African-American, so the only thing left to call her is socialist. Interesting that a socialist requested that I be “fair and balanced.” This is the slogan used by the conservative leaning Fox News network.

Now for my rebuttal to some of her comments, starting from the top. She wants everyone to have health care and a job. Maybe everybody doesn’t want health care. If I couldn’t pay for my own health care, I would not want Medicaid or any other government supplemented health care plan. I would be absolutely ashamed if it came to the point that I had to rely on somebody else to pay for anything for me. She wants everybody to have a job. I am pretty sure that many people are perfectly happy to sit home and collect checks from the government. Not everybody wants a job. She wants better school systems. Not sure if she is referring to that as a place to work, or a place to send her kids. In either case, nobody is telling you that you can’t move. Go get a job in a better school system, or move to a neighborhood that has better schools and send your kids there.

President Bush did not drive the country into a depression. We have not been in a depression since the 1930’s. Yes, the economy eventually slid into a recession during Bush’s second term, but we all know that you can’t blame the entire current economic situation on whichever President is in office at the time. If so, how is that “hope and change” working for you? President Obama has done nothing but blame Bush for everything bad the he ‘inherited,’ so it is only fitting to say that everything Bush ‘inherited’ was President Clinton’s fault.

I cannot comment on Bush’s No Child Left Behind policy and what it has done to education because I honestly don’t know anything about that.

I am still trying to figure out how it is Bush’s fault that “millions lost their jobs and homes.” How do tax cuts cause anybody to lose their jobs or homes. I didn’t hear anybody complaining when Bush was sending out tax rebate checks in the amount of $600 per adult plus $300 per child. It wouldn’t surprise me though if people did complain. It likely wasn’t enough for them. If Bush’s policies were so bad and cost people their jobs and homes, why didn’t you just send the money back?

There is a black man running the country. He is ruining the system of the rich get richer and the poor stay broke as hell. Give me a break. Nobody that I know cares that Obama is black. He is half white by the way, but race is not at all an issue for most of us who oppose him. It is his socialist and Marxist policies that we are against. Yes, Obama is ruining the system of the rich get richer. He is making it harder to accumulate wealth because anybody who does is punished by being unfairly over-taxed. Sure, the poor stay poor. They have no incentive to work because the government pays them to not work. The so-called rich are unfairly overtaxed to pay for the lazy and irresponsible people who don’t contribute to society.

Tea partiers are out protesting taxes and unfair government policies. Freedom of speech in our country allows them to do so. I don’t see that there is anything wrong with what these groups of people are doing. You claim that “most of the tea partiers are rich,” as if it is a bad thing to be rich. I did not see it that way at all. The people I saw in pictures and on newscasts did not look like rich people at all to me. They looked like ordinary Americans. What do you have against rich people anyway? Do you not want to be one of them?

Lastly, health care absolutely is a privilege. It is a privilege to those who pay for it or for those who it is provided for by either their employer or, sadly, by the government. Why would you think that anybody has a right to health care? Anybody who wants to can buy health care coverage. If an insurance company won’t accept you due to pre-existing conditions, you can still go to a doctor and get treated. Last time I checked, you don’t have to have insurance to go to a doctor. They accept cash, checks and credit cards.

Basically, it comes down to personal responsibility. I believe that everybody should be responsible to take care of themselves and should not be forced to pay taxes in the name of “helping” anybody else. I am not against helping the poor, the elderly or the handicapped. I am against helping them through legal taxation and government programs. I believe that private charities, foundations and organizations should be responsible for this. They would have far more than enough money funded through private donations if the so-called rich weren’t already taxed to death. Private organizations would do a far better job at managing charitable funds than the government does with unfair taxes.

This concludes my rebuttal to the socialist who attacked me on Twitter one day.
