The Chocolate Bar in Reno: Calling All Chocolate Lovers

by itchyfish

Women, how would you like to indulge in chocolate and eat strawberries as you are enjoying a glass of wine, champagne or a chocolate martini? Men, how would you like to go to this same place, but have a bottle of beer as you make your girlfriend or wife happier than they have ever been before? Well, you can do exactly this at the Chocolate Bar located in Reno, Nevada. But don’t let the Chocolate Bar fool you; they definitely have more to offer than just chocolate.

The Chocolate Bar is located at 475 South Arlington Avenue FI 1. For ingredients they only use the finest chocolates from around the world and once you try it you will know the atmosphere is very intimate and warm with dark browns, stone walls, and white lights hanging all over.

From white chocolate to milk chocolate to dark chocolate, you will be sure to find something that your taste buds like. On the menu there are what seems to be endless choices of chocolate confections. Items like chocolate fondue, pound cake, handmade truffles, cupcake sampler, campfire smores, and espresso tiramisu will make your mouth water as you read the description on the menu, or if you see it being served to another table. It was hard trying to decide what I wanted to try first.

If you are with a group, you can always choose to order the Fondue and have a little Fondue party. This allows you to pick 3 ingredients from a list of items like grapes, brownies, bananas, cookie dough, bitter orange caramel, dark chocolate swirl, Godiva chocolate, Chambord and many others to build your own tasty treat.

To wash down your meal you can order a variety of chocolate martinis, Mayan cocoa, tea, hot chocolate, or West African espresso. Or if you want to try something new and different you can try one of their many signature cocktails. One of my favorites was the Pomegranate Mojito. It was a mixture of lime juice, vodka, pomegranate juice, soda and mint. My favorite dessert wine was their Deco chocolate wine from Santa Rosa. It was a great way to end our meal. If those choices don’t sound good to you, they also serve a select few beers on draft, about 20 different kinds of bottled beer, regular red and white wines, and basically any mixed drink you can think from their large liquor menu.

Besides chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate they offered a small menu of other choices for it’s’ guests. On the menu you can find items like garlic fries, cheese soufflĂ©, Chinese popcorn, beef or chicken satay, baby crab cakes, grilled flatbread, or deviled eggs to have as finger food as you are socializing with your friends. If you are looking for a full meal they offer items like Mediterranean chicken, flat iron steak, lamb chops, strawberry field’s salad and a few other items. The presentation of the plates are a treat in itself. They take pride on how the food looks when it is served to you.

This is a great place to meet friends at and socialize or to have an intimate date with your loved one. The prices are a little higher, but overall it is well worth it for the experience. Any chocolate lover will feel like they died and went to heaven here, any non-chocolate lover will still be able to find something they enjoy that the Chocolate Bar offers. The great atmosphere, food, and service will definitely make me stop back here again when I am in Reno. So if you find yourself in Reno, make sure you stop by the Chocolate Bar to see what I am talking about.
