The Best Jell-O Shot Recipes

by itchyfish

Looking to add an extra bit of fun to your party? Jell-O shots are a great way to get the party going and add some color to your drink selection. Making Jell-O shots is a piece of cake when you have the right recipe. Here are three of my favorites.

Before You Begin, Be Sure You Have the Correct Utensils
In order to make any of the recipes below, you will need a stove or other apparatus to boil water, a medium-sized mixing bowl, a spoon and 2-ounce plastic or paper cups to serve the shots in. The plastic Jell-O Shot Cups With Lids available on Amazon work very well.

Tropical Breeze Jell-O Shots
This recipe blends the flavors of watermelon Jell-O and coconut rum. The result is a deliciously sweet, tropical flavor and a fun pink color. Great for summer parties!

To make: Boil 1 cup of water. Combine water and 1 package of watermelon Jell-O in a mixing bowl. Add 1 cup of Malibu coconut rum. Pour the mixture into 2-ounce cups; leave a bit of extra space at the top of the cup to avoid spillage. Place cups in the refrigerator until set (usually about 6-8 hours). Serving size: approximately 20 Jell-O shots.

Margarita Jell-O Shots
Love the flavor of margaritas but don’t feel like getting out the blender? This Jell-O shot recipe will give your party a south-of-the-border flavor. Use this recipe if you find yourself in the company of tequila enthusiasts.

To make: Boil 1 cup of water. Combine water and 1 package of lime Jell-O in a mixing bowl. Add 1 cup of your favorite tequila. Pour the mixture into 2-ounce cups; leave a bit of extra space at the top of the cup to avoid spillage. Place cups in the refrigerator until set (usually about 6-8 hours). Serving size: approximately 20 Jell-O shots.

Lemon Drop Jell-O Shots
These lemon-flavored shots are great go-to for all types of parties. The recipe is a bit less sweet than your typical lemon drop shot, but delicious nonetheless.

To make: Boil 1 cup of water. Combine water and 1 package of lemon Jell-O in a mixing bowl. Add 1 cup of Absolut Citron. Pour the mixture into 2-ounce cups; leave a bit of extra space at the top of the cup to avoid spillage. Place cups in the refrigerator until set (usually about 6-8 hours). Serving size: approximately 20 Jell-O shots.

If you are in the Jell-O shot making mood, try experimenting with different flavor combinations. Some unusual ones try are orange Jell-O and amaretto (tastes like a creamsicle) and cherry Jell-O and Crème de cacao (for a cherry chocolate flavor). Cheers!
