Dancing movies rank among my favorite movies to watch. Dance is so stimulating. And beautiful to watch. Keeping my interest throughout, even if the storyline for the movie lacks. I just come to see the dance, enjoy the dance, and occasionally dance along. Dancing movies are becoming increasing popular as dance, itself, rises in popularity. So You Think You Can Dance is one TV show I do not miss an episode of. I can never seem to get enough of dance. And these dancing movies are my favorites to watch over and over.
Make It Happen
We know the story. A small town girl trying to make it. And her bumpy road to fulfill her dream of dance. The moves in Make it Happen is Coyote Ugly meets Step Up. I was sad to see this dancing movie never really made it anywhere. A little known dancing movie. But I thoroughly enjoyed watching Make it Happen. And for a dancing movie it hits high on my list.
Step Up 1 and 2
I think all dancing movie fanatics have seen Step Up 1 and 2. And know what great dance movies they really are. Channing Tatum broke out in Step Up. Showing off his great dance skills and wowing the dance fanatics everywhere.
Honey
Despite what a lot of people think, I liked this dancing movie. Jessica Alba may not be the best actress but I like the moves and the fact that she helped out children in need. I love the end dance sequence with all the children out there breaking it down to their hearts content.
You Got Served
The story line in this dancing movie is not the best, in fact it is horrible. But the dancing in phenomenal. If you like street dancing this one is perfection. A must see dancing movie.
Save the Last Dance 1 and 2
The two movies differ in many ways. And part two, as most sequels go does not live up to the first. But the dancing in both is exceptional. That is why we dancing movie fanatics come to watch, right?
Footloose
A classic dancing movie. Kevin Bacon puts on his dancing shoes and shows us what he is made of in this dancing movie.
Flashdance
Jeniffer Beals at her finest. I love watching this old classic dancing movie to put a smile on my face.
Dirty Dancing and Havana Nights
Dirty Dancing a classic most dance movie fanatics already own. But Havana Nights surprised me. I still do not understand why this was considered a sequel. The dancing was first class. The story line worked well with the movie. And it was a thoroughly enjoyable dancing movie.
Shall we Dance?
I love that Richard Gere did Shall we Dance? I loved his work in Chicago and was happy to see he signed on. The story line and the dancing worked very well together.
Center Stage 1 and 2
I enjoyed both of the Center Stage dancing movies. As always the sequels storyline was not as great as the first. But I still enjoyed it.
Also watching musicals since the majority of them have a lot of dancing in them. And the great thing about dancing movies and musicals is you can put them in the background and still enjoy them.
