I am a person that absolutely loves to bake. There is nothing that I have not baked that I have not liked but here are the top of my all time favorites that you should really try as well.
First of all I make some mean cinnamon rolls. All you simply need is some bread dough mix and patience. After you make the dough according to the directions then you let it rise for about an hour. Do not worry it will appear to be crawling out of the bowl after you. Once you allow the dough to rise then you will need to punch it down and roll it out till about an inch thick. Now you are going to take melted butter and spread that over the dough. To that you are now going to sprinkle 3 or 4 big handfuls of brown sugar. Be sure that you take the time to spread it around so that all the dough is covered. Finally you will add the cinnamon. Be sure that this also covers the whole dough do not leave one spot white. Once you have all that you are going to roll the dough up into a tight roll. You can seal this roll shut with a dab of your left over butter. Allow the dough to rest while you make your next roll.
Now that you have all the rolls you are ready to cut. Make sure that each of your rolls are about 1 to 2 inches thick. Place in a greased pan and cover to let rise for another hour. They will be huge so be prepared. Finally place in a 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. Pour over your powdered sugar icing then dig in. You will be amazed at the ooey gooey goodness that delights your tongue.
Another one of my all time favorites would have to be my moms Black Magic Cake. This cake has been in the family for years and is a family favorite. The secret is that you add a cup of hot coffee and buttermilk into the mix. The cake is so fluffy and oh so yummy. Everyone I have ever served this too has asked for the recipe but unfortunately it is a family secret. However, there is a similar recipe on the Hershey Cocoa recipes site.
I also love making no bake cookies. These are ones that will just melt in your mouth and they do not take long at all to make. All you need is some oatmeal, cocoa, peanut butter, and milk. They are a family favorite in my house and everyone wants them.
But probably my absolute all time favorite brings both good and sad memories to my mind. They would have to be what I lovingly call zaza cookies. Alize was a two year old that was murdered by her foster mother. Every time she came to my house to visit she would ask for Isa’s cookies so, after her death I lovingly labeled them zaza cookies in her memory. They will melt in your mouth and they are oh so good.
