The time has come for Ali Fedotowsky to choose a guy. Roberto Martinez and Chris Lambton are both good guys, so either way I think it could work out. Hopefully. However, as I stated in my last Bachelorette article, I do think Chris Lambton will be the one she chooses. Guess we will have to wait just a moment longer to find out.
The guys got the chance to go to Tahiti to meet Ali’s family, and after words, Ali will be giving one person a rose. Or will she walk away from love? No, I think she is really ready for a real relationship.
Season flashbacks were shown of the journey she had with each of the three remaining guys. Kisses, tender moments, fantasy suits, tattoos, hot tubs, tropical locations, family talk, bonding, friendship, pain, joy – they found it all. But what about love? Did she find the one thing she was looking for?
Meeting Her Family
Ali’s dad, mom, sister Raya, and brother Michael were all in Tahiti, waiting to meet the guys. Ali told them she is a bit hyper, and admitted that Roberto brought her a sense of peace. Her mom told the cameras that he was the man of her daughter’s dreams.
Roberto got the first date with Ali and her family. He brought a gift and said he planned to make sure that her parent’s approved of him. He took time to talk to the parents individually, like the guys always do on reality television.
Ali’s mom got tears when talking to him and said his heart was pure. She could see why her daughter likes him. It is obvious that he is good-looking, relaxed, very good at talking, and he is working it for all it is worth. I’m just sayin’… And Roberto got her daddy’s blessing, and he called him a great guy. Her mother asked Roberto to teach her how to salsa dance. Now that is what I am talking about. He certainly knows how to charm everyone. It comes very natural to him though, it doesn’t seem fake, at all.
Chris was chipper to meet her parents. She asked if he was nervous, and he responded well with, “Why, should I be?” He was unbreakable. Chris seemed more energetic than usual and it put a pep in his step. The ice was broken when she told her parents that he is also from Massachusetts. They were thrilled to have a hometown boy. He told them he used to be a math teacher for high school students. Her mom asked if he was now a landscaper. And he said yes, he works with his dad and brother.
The family was very comfortable with Chris. Enough to ask about his mom dying. And after the siblings wanted to talk with him alone. Chris admitted that he took his time in getting to know Ali, so that their relationship would progress, once they knew they liked each other. Her mom had a lot of nice things to say about him. Raya said that he was a wonderful and genuine guy, and that she would love to have him in their family.
Next Chris asked her daddy for her hand in marriage. I did notice also how he told the siblings he would be proposing in a few days and was falling in love with her. Last time he said that he loved her. Big difference. Why ask her parent’s for her hand if you are just now falling in love? Other than that everything went smooth. Then he told the camera that he thought Ali was his soul-mate. Why didn’t he tell her that? It could be the difference between staying and going home.
Who did her family like best?
Dad liked Roberto, while everyone else liked Chris. Her siblings liked that Chris was confident in loving Ali, while dad argued that Roberto was the same way, and also a good guy. I almost thought they were gonna argue about it. I was impressed at how much each of them believed in “their guy”. Dad loved that Roberto also said he wanted to make her happy. That was a real moment – he couldn’t have said anything better than that.
The entire family agreed in the end that it was up to Ali. She admitted that she had a fear of trusting Chris. She called Roberto one of the sexiest guys she has ever known.
Then each guy got one last date with Ali, before the rose ceremony. It was make-it or break-it time.
She and Roberto, had a moment together on a private island in Tahiti. They had an excellent conversation, and a great moment in the rain where like two teenagers they enjoyed the rain falling down. The Bachelorette producers couldn’t have planned it to go that perfect. It was real, you could tell. (Well, when he saved her from the sting-rays, not so sure about that part). When it came to say goodbye at the end of the date – Ali said she couldn’t say goodbye to Roberto, and she didn’t leave. Even though the next morning she would be having a last date with Chris. It was really starting to look like Chris was a goner.
On the last date with Chris she arrived with bad news for him, it was pretty obvious, and then she pulled a Frank on him. She had trouble finding the words to explain. She said he had all the qualities she could want in a man, and said that she wasn’t sure it was supposed to be between them. She said she had to let him go here, and not wait until tomorrow. He was heart-broken, and I felt really sad for him. But it is her life, and if she is sure then it’s the right thing to do….He said he was really going to miss her, and she said “thank you”. Damn, she lets go fast. But, she found love, just not with him. Then again, even Frank cried when he left, but not Chris. He respected her for being honest with him.
Who Went Home
Yes, Chris was sent packing the day before the rose ceremony.
Maybe Chris will be on the next season of ABC’s The Bachelor. I can totally see it happening! Matter-of-fact, I predict that will be the case. Then again he could end up on Bachelor Pad.
Then she met with Roberto overlooking the water. He told her he wanted to make her laugh and smile. He declared his love for her, and he was so nervous. She told him that he is the only guy here today and said she loves him so much. And he told her that he wants to grow old with her. Then, he got down on one knee and proposed. And of course she said yes. It was pretty amazing!
This concludes the coverage of season 6 of The Bachelorette. Stay tuned for more information on ABC’s new spin-off, The Bachelor Pad.
