Allie, the Bachelorette made her final decision tonight on the season finale of The Bachelorette. The finale was once again full of surprises as she did something that no other Bachelor/Bachelorette has done in the history of the show.
The show started out in Tahiti where Allie came down to the two final Bachelors, Roberto and Chris. She had a tough decision to make, so she invited her family to the island to meet her two handsome suitors. Allie first introduced Roberto to her Mom, Dad, Sister & Brother. After dining together with the family, Roberto expressed how much he was falling in love with their daughter. He asked her Dad for permission to ask Allie to marry him and her father quickly said yes. Allie’s Mom asked Roberto to teach her how to salsa dance and the lunch ended with everyone dancing salsa together.
Chris and Allie’s Dad had a similar conversation as he and Roberto but he was a bit more hesitant to respond; in the end her Dad said “yes”. Chris was much more reserved when he met Allie’s family but they seemed to like him just as much as Roberto. He opened up to them about the recent loss of his Mom and how it’s effected him in his life. In the end, although Allie’s family was able to help her with a few suggestions, the decision was totally up to her.
After having her final date with Roberto, Allie realized that she was falling in love with him and that her decision was going to be very difficult. She decided to spend the night with Roberto rather than go back to her room so she could figure out who she wanted to choose.
She decided that she couldn’t wait until the final rose ceremony and that she had already made her decision. She went to go visit Chris in his room and sat him down to gently break the news to him. She explained to him that she was in love with Roberto and rather than put him through the final rose ceremony the next day only to let him down, she decided to let him down a little easier. Although he was still hurt, he thanked her for breaking to him in such a way.
Allie gave Chris one last hug and said goodbye. Before Chris’s Mom passed away, she told him to look for her in rainbows. As he gazed up into the sky and started to cry, there was the most beautiful, brilliant rainbow you could ever see. There wasn’t a drop of rain around that day so Chris knew that his Mom had sent him that rainbow to let him know she was thinking about him. Allie looked up and saw the very same rainbow and started to cry because she thought of Chris’s Mom too.
In the end Allie professed her love during the final rose ceremony to Roberto who immediately proposed to her. Allie quickly accepted and they embraced in joy. Roberto picked her up and it seemed as though he carried her off into the sunset, happily ever after!
