We go through great lengths to find ways and means to see God clear. For some, it’s the path of conventional religion. For others it’s New Age and alternative approaches; deep meditation and study.
The goal is identical. The ways to get there differ.
Seeing God is that great reward which comes when we step into perfection. It’s a kiss of completeness where we are held spellbound in the arms of the cosmos and clearly see the face of God.
These are the moments which re-charge life with power, love and purpose. The priests, the yogis, the teachers and their students, everybody wants to be here in this place where the magnificence and full glory of All is beheld and experienced.
Unfortunately, the kisses are brief and far between for most and we spend so much time longing for their return.
Jesus perfected the art of seeing God. Let us learn from one who lived and lives forever in the full knowledge of His divine nature.
Jesus the Christ shifted the effort from trying to see God in some place or thing to letting God look out at the world through his own eyes. He realized that seeing God was not as important as allowing God to see through him. Jesus gave God his own vision, hands, mouth and flesh and said “these are yours.” In doing so man and his creator, in that moment, became one, consciously.
It is through the eyes of His creations through which God sees the world He creates. With each set of eyes open to His, He sees that much more of Himself.
So, who created the great works of art held sacred through the centuries? It was those whose eyes and ears God saw and heard through; those whose flesh God felt through. These were the masters who created the masters; those whom the Master expressed Himself through.
From the eyes of Jesus God looked out. Through Jesus’ hands God felt the world Through Jesus’ flesh he felt the sting of betrayal and death. It was through Jesus the man that God saw, felt and knew the full weight of what it is to be human. Through Jesus the Christ humankind experienced what it is to be God
Have we opened our eyes to his? Do we give God a full share in our feelings and senses? Only in full abandon can the presence be known and the “present” itself know, for we are the fingers, hands, lips and tongue of the seeing, feeling cosmos we co-create.
Trying to see God, whether inside or outside of us, is like standing in the center of the sun and trying to see it.
God seeing out through our eyes is the sun looking out at its planets.
Let the sun shine out. Illuminate your world and let God drink it all in through your eyes. This is the art of seeing God. This is the art of God seeing.
