After weeks of participating in the Altador Cup the prize shop is finally open! All that hard work has certainly paid off but I do have a twinge of guilt for not being a little more active. There are a lot of extremely sweet items in the prize shop but some of them are way out of my reach. If you have 40,000 points you can get a “Pirate Paint Brush” but I wasn’t that active and only ended up with 8,786 prize shop points to spend. Even so, that is a lot better than I did last year. Again, I am sort of kicking myself for not digging my heels in and playing more games. There’s always next year!
Where is the “Altador Cup Prize Shop”? Click here to be magically transported to it!
Some of the very cool food based items are the “Altador Cup Chocolate Coins” (5 points) and the “Altador Cup Cupcake” (10 points). You can also get the “Chocolate Yooyu Cookie” (40 points). There are some nice books also available in the shop; they include the following titles: “Shootout Showdown: Getting Past The Goalie” (75 points), “Commemorative Program” (200 points), “A Fans Guide to the Altador Cup” (400 points) and “Team Krawk Island: Journey to the Top” (20,000 points). I wasn’t sure about the “Altador Cup Notebook” (70 points) so I bought one to see how it was classified. It is a School item, not a book therefore it can’t be read to your pet. Look forward to seeing some Neopet scams involving this item on the Trading Post.
The more expensive items in the Altador Prize Shop are the “Dasher Soley Action Figure” (2,000 points), “Altador Cup V Commemorative Stamp” (5,000 points), “Slushie Slinger Waitress Wig” and “Altador Cup Collectors Jacket” (both 10,000 points) and the “Snow Yooyu” (30,000 points). The “Vintage Roo Island Altador Cup Jersey”, “Vintage Haunted Woods Altador Cup Jersey” and “Vintage Darigan Altador Cup Jersey” are seling for 400 points, not a bad investment if you have a ton of points that you don’t know what to do with. For those on a budget or seeing to get Altador specific items, check out the “Shootout Showdown Home Edition Game” for 25 points or the “Altador Cup Yard Statue” for 100 points. I am hoping to come across a “Mutant Yooyu Plushie” for my gallery, even if I had 15,000 prize shop points I doubt I would spend them on just one single item.
For 30 prize shop points you can snag any of the following snowglobes: “Altador Cup Altador Snowglobe”, “Altador Cup Brightvale Snowglobe”, “Altador Cup Faerieland Snowglobe”, “Altador Cup Haunted Woods Snowglobe”, “Altador Cup Kiko Lake Snowglobe”, “Altador Cup Krawk Island Snowglobe”, “Altador Cup Maraqua Snowglobe”, “Altador Cup Moltara Snowglobe”, “Altador Cup Mystery Island Snowglobe”, “Altador Cup Lost Desert Snowglobe”, “Altador Cup Shenkuu Snowglobe”, “Altador Cup Terror Mountain Snowglobe”, “Altador Cup Tyrannia Snowglobe”, “Altador Cup Virtupets Snowglobe”, “Altador Cup Roo Island Snowglobe”, “Altador Cup Meridell Snowglobe”, “Altador Cup Darigan Citadel Snowglobe”, “Altador Cup Kreludor Snowglobe”. I am waiting to see the pricing trend on these before I start buying them. If the market is flooded with them and the price is reasonable it makes more sense to buy them from players shops than to spend prize points on them.
Prize shops points are good until the start of the next Altador Cup. You can redeem your points whenever you want, the shop is always open. Personally I am only going to buy a few small things and spread out my purchases over time. I worked hard to earn these points and want to get the maximum from them. I am also going to be keeping track of the prices on these items; things that are selling for thousands of points right now will more than likely see a massive price drop them the market is flooded with them. And you all know what that means .. H-O-A-R-D!!!
