Once upon a time, in a kingdom far away, in a castle way up in the sky, there lived a little princess named Racheal. She was a beautiful little girl. Her hair was black and curly. Her eyes were a deep shade of brown and her skin was the color of coffee with cream. She wore beautiful dresses. She lived in the castle with her mother Queen Amy. Racheal had everything that she ever wanted. Everything, that is, except the one thing that she really wanted- she had no friends. She was the only child in the whole kingdom. This made Racheal very sad.
One day, Princess Racheal decided to leave the castle and travel down to earth to find some friends. She waited until her mother was asleep and then she slipped out the door. She got up on her unicorn and set off on her adventure. Down, down, down they flew. It was morning when they finally landed. Racheal found herself just outside the small village of Harlantown. The first thing that she heard was the sound of laughter of some children playing nearby. She was excited.
Meanwhile, Queen Amy had woken up and found that Princess Racheal was missing. This made the queen very sad and very frightened. She didn’t know what to do. She sounded the alarm. Everyone in the kingdom began to search for the missing princess.
Racheal walked up to the children and said, “hi!” but the children ignored her. She tried again and still the kids pretended she was not there. She started to cry. She had dreamed of the day when she would have a friend to play with and now it looked as if that dream would never come true. As she stood there crying, one of the children came up to the princess and put her arm around her and asked “estas bien?” Princess Racheal said “huh?” The little girl repeated, “estas bien?” Princess Racheal knew then that the children weren’t ignoring her; they just didn’t understand her just as she didn’t understand them. The language barrier didn’t prevent them from having fun. Princess Racheal and the others just began to play together. They all had a wonderful time. Princess Racheal was very happy when she left to return home.
When Princess Racheal arrived back at the kingdom she found her mother in tears. The Queen began to scream at her. She said ” What were you thinking? Did you not know how worried I’d be? Don’t know how dangerous it is to leave alone like that? Then the queen, stopped screaming and rushed up to Princess Racheal and gave her a big hug. Princess Racheal was grounded for a whole month.
This story has a happy ending. After her grounding was over, she and the Queen learned to speak the language of Racheal’s new friends and they would often fly down to earth so that she could play with them
