When you are in the Midwest, you want to make the most of your vacation! Sometimes it’s better to find something unique to the area rather than another Six Flags amusement park, with it’s special of $20 pizza slices and super long lines. By visiting one of these locations (most of which you can’t find any where other than the Midwest), you’re sure to find something you and your family will love.
For many years in a row, Holiday World has been rated the cleanest amusement park facility in the entire United States! Holiday World is a family run amusement park, and somewhere I take my family every single year. Not only are their prices on food very affordable (especially for an amusement park!) but they offer free pop, drinks, and sunscreen everywhere throughout the park! Holiday’s admission prices are below $50 for adults and children per day, and not only do they just offer land rides, but also a huge water park. Holiday World is home to the longest wooden roller coaster, tallest wooden roller coaster, and highest water ride in the entire world! Holiday world is located in Santa Claus, Indiana. It’s an amusement park based on the holidays, something true to its own!
My family never gets sick of Wisconsin Dells. Wisconsin Dells is an entire city of attractions and entertainment that everyone in your family will love. They have tons of outdoor and indoor water parks, so no matter what time of year you’ll go you’ll still have something to do. As you may have guessed, Wisconsin Dells is located in Wisconsin.
Lake of the Ozarks
Located in Missouri, Lake of the Ozarks is a great place to visit if you love boating and the water! It has tons of restaurants and things to do. In the winter you can rent boats to take out on the lakes and enjoy some sun and time with your family. One of the best things about Lake of the Ozarks is that it’s never too crowded like many of the larger amusement parks.
Growing up in the heart of Illinois, I found myself winding up in Chicago, Illinois many, many times. Chicago is a great place for shopping, to go site seeing, swimming, and more! Chicago is the fifth largest city in the United States, and the summers are hot and the winters cold. The city has many great museums and unique restaurants. It’s located right on Lake Michigan, so you’re never too far from the beach!
The Midwest is full of great places to go and things to do. If you ever have the opportunity to visit this great place in the United States, never let it go! No matter where you do end up, you’ll never forget your trip to the heart of the US.
