It seems like every website has simple sleep tips available for viewing, or sleep tips that seem simple to use. But in reality, these so-called simple sleep tips strategies take a lot of time to implement and aren’t practical for many people to use.
That’s because a lot of people don’t have time to take the time to follow such tips as “read a book an hour before bed” or “don’t eat or drink too late at night.”
Here are some tips to have a good night’s sleep more often than not:
1. No caffeine before bed-
Ideally, no caffeine at all is the best policy, but avoiding it a couple hours before bed should suffice.
2. Visualize, don’t think-
A simple idea but hard to stick to. Visualize waterfalls, sunshine, or other soothing natrual scenes and you’ll fall asleep much faster than if you think about all the things that happened to you during the day.
3. Remove clutter-
The more cluttered your room the more distracted you’ll be. Every bit of cleanliness counts.
4, Darkness is important-
Get some dark shades and cover up all windows entirely because dark rooms produce better sleep, period.
5. No TV or computer in the room-
Both can have you thinking about things other than sleep.
6. Give yourself something to look forward to-
Sometimes this can hurt sleep if you’re too excited about an event, but giving yourself something to look forward to the next day is always a bonus for falling asleep better.
7. Exercise during the day-
Even a little bit helps in a big way when it comes time to sleep.
Sunlight during the day helps regulate your internal clock, so be sure to get good exposure on your break at wokr.
9. Unplug eletronic devices-
Besides TV’s and computers as distractions, all eletronic devices, especially routers, should ideally be unplugged to prevent various types of interference.
Flashing lights are also very distracting. Put an alarm clock in a hidden spot if you need one.
10. Don’t languish in bed too long without falling asleep-
Get up and read a book for a minute or get a little fresh air if you don’t fall asleep within 20-30 minutes because staying in bed will only exasperate the problem.
Follow these simple sleep tips and you’ll at least be able to see some improvement. These sleep tips and other simple sleep tips can be tough to follow but remember to stay positive, and don’t forget to ask your friends for their own sleep tips as well.
