Having white teeth is important for a many people and many will go through great lengths to ensure that their teeth are perfect. With so many tooth-whitening products on the market, sometimes it’s difficult to figure out which products work the best. I had white teeth for many years and then all of a sudden they developed a slight yellow tint. I think it was more noticeable to me than it was anyone else, but I couldn’t help being self-conscious. It wasn’t like I was a smoker or had poor oral hygiene, so I wasn’t exactly sure why my teeth became discolored. All I knew was that I wanted to return my teeth back to their original white color, but without spending a great deal of money that I didn’t have anyway. A couple of family members had the same problem and helped me to test out several products. Here are a few products that we really like and that work well.
Crest Whitestrips Classic – This product costs less than $30 for a 14 day supply and is guaranteed to whiten your teeth. The package contains 56 strips, but I must admit that in the beginning it was somewhat of a challenge to get the strips situated in my mouth. Despite the hassle of getting them positioned correctly, they certainly worked for me (my dentist recommended them), but I’ve known some people with severe discoloration that had no results with it, so I guess it’s for minor discoloration only. It probably depends on what has made your teeth discolored as well as how long they’ve been that way. The only thing I didn’t like about the product was that it caused me to experience a burning sensation in my gums, which was probably from the hydrogen peroxide.
Watts Power White Optimized Professional 35%Teeth Whitening Kit – My aunt is a coffee drinker and hated the way her teeth began to appear slightly yellow after years of drinking her favorite drink. She wanted to try this product because she liked what she read about it online and she also liked the cheap price. On Amazon it’s half the price of the Crest Whitestrips Classic that I used. I must say that despite not being a well-known brand and costing a great deal less, this product worked beautifully and my aunt was very pleased with the results. It actually seemed to work faster and the application process isn’t as awkward as with the Crest Whitestrips.
Listerine Whitening Pen – After my aunt’s experience with the Watts Whitening Kit, and mine with the Crest Whitestrips, my younger sister decided to use the Listerine Whitening Pen to rectify her slightly yellowed teeth problem. She chose the pen because it appeared easier to use (it was) and because of the price (around $10 from Walmart.) I noticed that my sister’s teeth were whiter in less than a week after using the product. The only thing that she didn’t like about the product was the fact that it was quite messy, but otherwise it worked great and she would definitely use it again in the future.
So, it totatlly depends on which type of product you’re looking to use to whiten your discolored teeth, but I must say that these 3 products work quite well, and your final decision on which product to buy will be determined by your budget as well as a few other factors.
