As if there weren’t enough lawsuits involving basketball wives these days, Suzie Ketcham, ex-girlfriend of NBA star Michael Olowokondi, seems to have gotten herself involved in one after Saturday night’s fracas on the set of a live-taping of a reunion episode of VH1’s “Basketball Wives.” Suzie Ketcham was arrested on the set after throwing a bucket of water on “Sandra,” a groupie who had had a drink thrown in her face by Ketcham during the show’s first season. Sandra, who slipped and fell during the incident, wants charges brought against Ketcham. And by the looks of things, she will be filing a lawsuit.
According to Radar Online’s source, the cast of “Basketball Wives” were taping in front of a studio audience when it was announced to the women that a “surprise” guest was there. When Sandra walked out, Suzie Ketcham “got really p***ed off and just got up and left.” Soon afterward, however, “she came back with a huge bucket of water and threw it on Sandra.”
If that had been the end of it, Ketcham may not have been arrested. However, Sandra, in an attempt to get away, slipped in the water and fell, injuring herself. Paramedics were called in. The police were notified. The studio audience was locked in by the production staff while the events unfolded.
Sandra was treated in front of the audience. According to the source, “as she was being taken off set, the first words out of her mouth were, ‘Call my lawyer.'”
Suzie Ketcham was arrested and taken away for questioning.
Suzie Ketcham isn’t the first “Basketball Wives” star to get involved in a lawsuit since the show debuted in April. Her castmate, Evelyn Lozada, after having topless pictures appear online that she said were hacked, filed a lawsuit against NBA star Ricky Davis’ ex-wife, Vanessa Davis, for allegedly stalking her via the internet, hacking into her e-mail, stealing her topless pictures and posting them online. Evelyn Lozada had previously noted in an interview that she and her fellow castmembers had done a little investigating on their own and found the culprit who kept sending her harassing e-mails and threatening to “make money” off of her. Davis (who is not a member of the cast of “Basketball Wives”), who claims innocence, has threatened to counter-sue for defamation.
As for the injured Sandra, her condition is as yet unknown.
The “Basketball Wives” reunion special was scheduled to air on June 20. It is uncertain if that is still the case.
