Looking for summer songs for 2010? On this list you’ll find some new summer songs fresh from the albums of July 2010 perfect for refreshing your summer playlist. From sexy summer songs perfect for a party to a few you’ll enjoy listening to on a lazy summer day, the summer songs from the new albums of July 2010 on this list will help keep your soundtrack fresh all summer long:
Summer Songs of New Albums: June 29, 2010
Scissor Sisters – Night Work
Okay, so the Scissor Sisters’ latest isn’t actually one of the new albums of July 2010, but it’s close enough (and it will help you get one of the hottest months of the summer started right). This is one of the new albums of 2010 I’d most highly recommend, as this trip back to the 70’s/80’s is loaded with great party songs that will have you groovin’ all summer long. I highly recommend songs like “Night Work”, which will help you hold down your second summer job in Funky Town ‘Saturday Night Fever’-style. And if you’d rather experience your summer romance from beneath a disco ball instead of under the hot sun, you can get down on the dance floor and groove to “Any Which Way” after a long summer day.
Summer Songs of New Albums: July 5, 2010
Mystery Jets – Serotonin
For summer songs to relax to, this is one of the indie albums I’d highly recommend. “Dreaming of Another World” is fun, funky, and dreamy, perfect to play on a lazy summer day or night full of nothing but dreaming, and “Flash a Hungry Smile” is one of the best summer songs for a picnic at the park, punctuated with a little cheerful whistling. So if you’re looking for summer albums to lighten your mood and help you relax, beat the heat with this one’s delightful beat.
Summer Songs of New Albums: July 6, 2010
Kylie Minogue – Aphrodite
If you’re looking for new July albums full of songs perfect for a summer romance or getting down on the dance floor, Kylie Minogue is back to be our Goddess of Summer with songs like “Aphrodite”, where the golden girl shines a little synth sunlight on our summer nights. And for some summer loving, “All the Lovers” is a sweet and sexy tune that lets your summer love know that none of your former summer flings can compare to your current dance romance.
Kelis – Flesh Tone
This may not turn out to be one of Kelis’ best albums, but it does feature one of the summer songs of 2010 here that’s got a title befitting of the season, “Fireworks (4th of July)”. It may be released a bit too late to celebrate a funky 4th, but this hot track has “hit” written all over it, and the explosive dance tune is perfect for making sparks on the dance floor while enjoying some electric fireworks.
Big Boi – Sir Lucious Leftfoot: The Son of Chico Dusty
This is another of the new albums of July 2010 that I’d highly recommend, since it’s loaded with tunes perfect for partying the summer away to. Whether you want to shake it like a tambourine to the juicy “Tangerine” or get paparazzi-ready to “Shutterbugg”, a great summer cruisin’ tune, the summer songs on one of the hottest albums of the season are just as fun and funky as its title sounds.
Enrique Inglesias – Euphoria
Looking for some luscious Latin love songs? “Hearbeat” features Nicole Scherzinger and a sensual, sexy sound perfect for listening to with someone you want to get close to. I’m not sure if Enrique’s bilingual album will be a big success, but I’m betting this titillating tune will.
Juvenile – Beast Mode
Don’t let Juvenile’s new album cover fool you into thinking that you’re buying Drake’s latest; this hip-hop star’s songs are just as, well, juvenile as ever (and just as repetitious). Still, I can’t help but smile while hearing upbeat dirty dancing tunes perfect for the summer like “Drop that Azz”, and “Drinks on Me” is the perfect refreshing follow-up while you take a break from the dance floor.
Bret Michaels – Custom Built
I don’t know if all the recent publicity will help sell Bret Michaels’ latest, and this is one of the summer albums I wouldn’t consider amongst the greatest, but it is full of gritty rock/country songs perfect for a summer road trip. You’ve at least got to check out Bret’s odd pairing with Miley Cyrus in “Nothing to Lose”, a ballad perfect for summer lovers with nothing to lose.
Summer Songs of New Albums: July 13, 2010
M.I.A. – // / Y /
This controversial pop star’s latest album may feature a few songs full of sounds mainstream listeners might not fall in love with, but it also features fun summer songs like ‘XXXO’, a dance tune that’s simply delicious (and full of hugs and kisses). At least with M.I.A. you know you’ll be getting something different.
Summer Songs of New Albums: July 20, 2010
Sheryl Crow – 100 Miles from Memphis
Is Sheryl Crow coming to the end of her winding road? Her latest may not be as big as her greatest past albums, but “Summer Day” is a sweet little love story about a summer memory, and her songs are always great for sharing a drink with friends to.
So whether you’re looking for summer party songs to dance to or summer songs to relax or romance to, the new albums of July 2010 are a perfect way to bring the summer in right.
