Simon Cowell makes tonight’s American Idol 2010 finale prediction on The Ellen Degeneres Show. It’s down to the wire between Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze.
Joplin inspired Bowersox came out with a divine edge to the well known MLK song by Patty Griffin called Up to the Mountain during last night’s final performance. Ellen’s compliment, as part of the panel of judges, concluded that if Bowersox made a salad she would eat it – it was good! All the judges highly enjoyed Crystal’s performance.
Hunk Lee DeWyze delighted America with U2’s Beautiful Day. Although it didn’t have that Bono force the judges gave a thumbs up for Lee’s performance. As most girls, and some men, tend to fall over to catch a DeWyze glimpse by ear alone, pockets of America can’t seemingly get enough of Crystal Bowersox. But will it be enough for Crystal to snag the spotlight tonight or should she prepare for an upset? Chances are the performer not chosen will be offered a side dish of recording and release opportunities – not quite an upset.
Host Ryan Seacrest and judges Ellen DeGeneres, Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi and America will be saying good bye to Simon Cowell tonight. Last night Simon’s last chance to criticize came and went. Surprisingly enough, Simon was graceful complimenting Bowersox and DeWyze’s performances. Even though American Idol Season 9 judging has closed and now is the time to celebrate America’s top choice many wonder if Simon will leave with a bang.
Simon Cowell’s crystal ball prediction of the tonight’s American Idol may lift eyebrows if Simon’s lucky guess hits the mark. Question is, does Simon know something America doesn’t or does America already believe that his prediction is mere commonsense?
This morning on The Ellen Degeneres Show Simon’s own views of both contestants switched within weeks. The prediction would have been Crystal if Simon had been asked five to six weeks ago, he mentions, but things have changed in time leading Simon to predict tonight’s winner to be Lee DeWyze.
Cowell also shared that leaving American Idol is compared to the last couple of weeks before school ends. The kid just “can’t wait to get out.” Simon spoke of how American Idol changed his life but reality comes to call and the American Idol judge decided it was time “to do something different.”
As America gears up to witness the exit of one of the most straight to the point judges American Idol could have chosen for the panel, prepare for a night of Simon Cowell memories in honor with some great entertainment, including The Bee Gees. Most importantly the winner of the 2010 American Idol will be announced.
American Idol Season 9 airs tonight at 8 p.m. on Fox.
Do you agree with Simon? Will DeWyze receive more votes than Bowersox in becoming the next American Idol?
