Justin Bieber fans are a feisty bunch, as a new bit of software with the tongue-in-cheek name “Shaved Bieber” has them almost as riled up as Kardashian-gate. But hold up: shouldn’t news that Miley Cyrus is dating Justin Bieber make them a little more upset? Plus, do Perez Hilton’s “Beaver Fever” T-shirts contain a dirty message that’s not exactly tween-friendly? Here’s a look at the latest Justin Bieber-induced insanity:
Miley Cyrus Dating Justin Bieber and Liam Hemsworth?
When Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber did lunch not too long ago, it seemed like a friendly meeting that Justin Bieber fans had no need to fear, but now ‘The Sun’ is reporting that Miley Cyrus may actually be dating Justin Bieber. However, the pop starlet apparently didn’t want to give up hunky beau Liam Hemsworth, so now the 17-year-old can boast having two boyfriends. Just be careful, Miley Cyrus; if your quip about having a travel-sized boyfriend and over-sized boyfriend is true, you might lose quite a chunk of your fan base, who will definitely choose the male teen heartthrob over the girl trying to grow up. (Surprisingly, this hasn’t caused quite the backlash that Kim Kardashian’s pic with the pint-sized crooner did; she received death threats for posing with Justin Bieber after girls feared that the two might be dating). But don’t worry too much, zombiebers; I have a feeling Miley Cyrus was joking about dating both Liam Hemsworth and Justin Bieber (so shame on her for inciting so much teen angst!).
Shaved Bieber: for Those of Us Biebonically Plagued
Suffering from the Biebonic plague? Never fear; the Shaved Bieber is here! And don’t worry, Justin Bieber fans; Justin Bieber isn’t pulling a Willie Nelson (he’s an old hippie) and lopping off his iconic locks. The news is far more grim than that: the Shaved Bieber erases Justin Bieber from the internet. Like Kim Kardashian, this bit of software is also angering Justin Bieber fans to a murderous fever pitch, as Pop Eater reports that the creator of Shaved Bieber has been compared to Hitler and received death threats from Biebettes. The Shaved Bieber software is a Firefox add-on that censors every mention of Justin Bieber on the web, and it’s bringing young fans to tears as their parents learn of the app and zap the teen star from their teens’ computers. So I guess gals that miss seeing Justin Bieber’s name will just have to enjoy the old-fashioned practice of scribbling it on their book covers in every font possible and wisely spend their allowance on teen magazines to get their pics fix (because, while you can treat Bieber fever with the Shaved Bieber vaccine, you just can’t cure it).
The Beaver Fever T-Shirt
While some want to erase Justin Bieber from the internet, Perez Hilton is looking to profit from Bieber fever, as the blogger/music talent scout has started peddling “Beaver Fever” T-shirts that feature a Justin Bieber-esque beaver cartoon character and the words “Beaver Fever”. The comments in response to the “Beaver Fever” T-shirt on his website aren’t exactly positive, but I think most making them would gladly become Shaved Bieber users. When it comes to Justin Bieber fans, some will see it as a fun way to honor their idol, while some will see the creepy cartoon as an insult. But parents, beware; all you’ve got to do is look up the Urban Dictionary definition of “beaver fever” to know that this isn’t a shirt that you’ll want to be buying for your tween’s birthday and letting them wear to school.
So from Miley Cyrus to internet mayhem, these are the latest ways that Justin Bieber has been taking over the web (even as he’s being erased from it).
