According to CBS News, some Republican insiders are pushing Sarah Palin’s name forward as Republican National Committee Chairman Micheal Steele’s replacement. Steele is currently under fire from Republicans and Democrats alike, after making statements about Afghanistan calling the conflict “a war of Obama’s choosing” and hinting it was ‘unwinnable’. Calls for his resignation are being heard, but who would take his place? Sarah Palin? Now, I’m an atheist but even I’m praying to ‘God’ that Sarah Palin is named as RNC Chairman Michael Steele’s replacement and here’s why, as a good Democrat, you should be too.
The Pure Deliciousness of It All – Probably America’s dumbest woman (don’t forget, she can see Russia from her house, which makes her an expert on Russian policy), can you imagine how fun it would be having Sarah Palin as Republican National Committee chairman(woman)? How delightful to wake up every morning to another laugh-out-loud remark from Palin – what a glorious start to anyone’s day.
Sarah Palin as Republicans’ Downfall – With the majority of American’s thinking Sarah Palin must be smoking something and believing the Republican Party is out of touch with real Americans, naming Sarah Palin as Michael Steele’s replacement would be just the nail in the coffin us ‘normal people’ are praying for
The Republican Party is already in serious trouble as it drifts further and further towards the extreme right, yet most Republican voters stay firmly in the middle. Just imagine how quickly the Republican Party would see its ultimate downfall as Republicans who are still in the real world distance themselves from this whackjob and everything she stands for. With 51% of Republicans having an unfavorable image of Palin and only 40% thinking favorably, pray, pray, pray Palin becomes RNC chair – it’s a gift straight from heaven for the Democrats and anyone else with half a brain.
Sarah Palin as President Obama’s Elector – Currently under fire from all sides, President Obama could really use someone like Sarah Palin in the RNC chair. With Republicans conveniently forgetting the recession was caused by eight years of failed Bush policies (billions of dollars going to Iraq, anyone?) Sarah Palin in the big seat spouting off her Twilight Zone comments against Obama would only boost President Obama’s ratings. After all, faced with the real life possibility of Sarah Palin in the White House – even my staunch Republican friends admit that’s not a nightmare they’re willing to help enact.
Palin Will Create Dissent in the Republican Party – Known as a wild card, who doesn’t take advice from anyone, what a huge source of amusement it would be to see Palin pitting one Republican against another because she doesn’t know how to compromise or create compromise. Praying, praying, praying and, yep, I’m still praying.
She Won’t Know Where to go to Work In the Morning – And finally, let’s leave this Palin RNC chair hilarity with a quote from the wonderful Bill Maher –
“Sarah Palin was asked a question by a third grader and she got it wrong. She apparently still does not know what the vice president does … She says he or she runs the Senate. No, not in this country. You know I would never accuse George Bush of being a bright man, but when he was elected, at least he knew which building to show up to.” ―Bill Maher
