Sarah Palin Supports Seasonal Sales Tax, Not Income Tax

by itchyfish

Sarah Palin does not support the income tax. She prefers a seasonal sales tax. Has Sarah Palin done her homework or is she spurting political BS? Does Sarah Palin have any idea how high a seasonal sales tax would have to be to eliminate the annual national debt. Remember that eliminating the debt means that we pay for the war on terror: not China.

Even without financing the war on terror a seasonal sales tax would have to be very high. Think about it. The proposed national sales tax was estimated to be at 23%. That would mean the seasonal sales tax on seasonal items would have to be much greater than 23%; probably closer to 50%.

Imagine your newlyweds having to buy food and having to pay a 23% seasonal sales tax on all seasonal food including vegetables, fruits, grains, potatoes, corn, etc.. Or having to pay a 23% seasonal sales tax on some types of furniture. I assume a seasonal sales tax only includes outdoor furniture. Lawn fertilizers and equipment used to cut grass and trim bushes can be considered seasonal. Outdoor paints can be considered seasonal because you can’t paint a porch or the house in cold weather. A seasonal sales tax would place a real burden on the poor working class family. Excluding seasonal items from Sarah Palin’s seasonal sales tax or excluding some people from paying the seasonal sales tax will only drive up the seasonal sales tax for everyone else: Probably over 60% of the price of the seasonal item. It will drive the middle class closer to poverty. It will be a burden on every middle class family.

I haven’t found the details of Sarah Palin’s seasonal sales tax and I doubt her seasonal sales tax has been considered in Congress. But in my estimation, the combination of a seasonal sales tax of any kind and major cuts in entitlement programs is effectively (and this is a strong phrase) a kill-the-poor effort by a bunch of cold-blooded political leaders. Another words, it is a subtle form of genocide! May God forgive them.

The only human problems these cold-blooded conservative politicians seem to understand are their own problems.

The income tax is low or non existent for the poor working class giving them desperately needed money to buy necessities. Placing Sarah Palin’s seasonal sales tax on the working poor is like kicking a person laying helplessly on the ground. Without knowing the details, Sarah Palin’s seasonal sales tax seems brutal and inhumane. The seasonal sales tax cannot support the current annual budget without massive cuts in badly needed programs including public services like law enforcement. A seasonal sales tax is another form of big government strangling the working class.

Sarah Palin wants Congress to cut out the pork. That is an idealism. Seems like Obama isn’t the only idealist around. Cut pork out and Congress is in constant gridlock. When a Senator fights for a benefit for his state, who do they think that benefit is targeted at? It’s targeted at some of that Senator’s constituents and that constitutes pork. That means this method of reducing federal spending won’t work and consequently Sarah Palin’s seasonal sales tax would have to be much higher.

Sarah Palin’s seasonal sales tax will not lower the national debt. Sarah Palin and her Tea Party conservative politicians act like callous cold-blooded war-loving — human beings?
