Sandra Bullock may not have stolen the show at Sunday evening’s 2010 MTV Movie Awards (that will undoubtedly go to that great Tom Cruise and Jennifer Lopez dance routine), but that kiss she and Scarlett Johansson shared certainly set the internet on fire. In fact, the kiss and the Cruise/J-Lo routine are all anyone is talking about. Who won? Who cares? Sandra Bullock, after reaching the pinnacle of her profession in March by winning the Best Actress Oscar at the Academy Awards and shortly thereafter being brought low by revelations that her husband was having multiple affairs, showed up at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards looking as beautiful as ever. And when she was presented the MTV Generation Award by Brad Cooper, Betty White, and Scarlett Johansson, she proved she hadn’t lost her ability to transfix an audience or her sense of humor since March, either.
After the standing ovation, she turned to her presenters
“Scarlett….I love you and all but this is a little uncomfortable…why are you here?”
Johansson said, “Well, since Ryan was working, I wanted to be here in his place when you guys won Best Kiss.” (Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds had been nominated for their kiss in “The Proposal.”)
“That’s really sweet,” Bullock told her. “But we didn’t win.”
“Right…well…I thought you should have won…it was a great kiss,” said stand-in Johansson.
And because they seemingly just had to, the two gravitated toward each other in a cute little attraction dance and locked lips.
After the kiss Sandra Bullock joked, “Can we please go back to normal – because therapy is really expensive.”
And it is in those few seconds, from standing ovation for getting the award to hot kiss with a former co-star’s gorgeous wife to self-deprecating humor, that remind us of why everyone loves Sandra Bullock.
For those that want to know who actually won for Best Kiss at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, the cult following of “Twilight” got Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson the trophy for their kiss in “The Twilight Saga: New Moon.”
And who says Sandra Bullock didn’t win this year’s Best Kiss? Robert Pattinson’s and Kristen Stewart’s kiss on stage isn’t topping the search engine charts. Just because Sandra Bullock didn’t get a trophy…
For those who couldn’t care less about Stewart, Pattinson, and who won but want another look at that nearly show-stealing kiss by Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson, the video can be found at TMZ…
