Some things you expect, like Sandra Bullock filing for divorce from husband Jesse James. Some things you do not, such as the revelation in People magazine that Sandra Bullock is the adoptive mother of a 3-and-a-half-month-old baby named Louis Bardo Bullock. A photo of the Oscar-winning actress and her baby graces the cover of People this week and it appears that Sandra Bullock not only is ready to move on, she’s also ready to talk about …everything.
But not only was news that Sandra Bullock had adopted a baby shocking to many, it was equally a shock that she and Jesse James had started the process four years ago. That their secret could have remained so, up to and including acquiring Louis Bardo Bullock in January, in the city where gossip is king may be the most amazing achievement of all. In addition, they kept the adoption a secret during the awards season and through the media frenzy that was the Jesse James mistress scandal.
Now everyone wants to see photos of the baby.
“He’s just perfect,” the 45-year-old actress told People. “I can’t even describe him any other way.”
Sandra Bullock and Jesse James decided to try and adopt a baby four years ago and found out in January that they had been accepted as adoptive parents of a child born in New Orleans. “It’s like he’s always been a part of our lives.”
“The Blind Side” actress told People that she didn’t want the baby, whom she named Louis because of she heard the immortal trumpeter Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” playing in her head the first time she saw the little guy, to be affected by the “awards season energy.” She and Jesse James decided to wait until after awards season was over to announce the adoption.
But just nine days after Sandra Bullock won the Best Actress Oscar for “The Blind Side,” Michelle ‘Bombshell’ McGee’s expose and tattooed photos appeared In Touch Weekly, revealing another secret in her life — that her husband was unfaithful. She said she packed a bag and she and the baby left “before the vultures [could] descend.”
“I did not want him brought into a world that would not have been too sincere to him as I wanted,” the actress told People magazine. “I wanted to be alone with him as long as I could, then we had to tell his story.”
But now the world knows about Louis Bardo Bullock. And Sandra Bullock says she plans to raise him as a single parent (although she also says she will not keep Jesse James out of the baby’s life). A photo of little Louis Bardo being held aloft by an obviously happy Sandra Bullock graces the cover of the upcoming People, which is due on April 30.
In the photo, he is looking directly into the camera. His expression reads, “Can you believe this?”
Of “America’s Sweetheart”? Sure we can…
