The newest Right Guard deodorant gel promises to do five things, that make it a “must purchase item.” For those of you who like to hit the gym, or perhaps play a game of pickup basketball, you know about fighting off the stench associated with these activities. Sports and physical fitness are great for your overall health, but can leave you smelling “a bit funky.” The Right Guard Five Total Defense Power Gel, with the Fresh Blast Scent, was on sale for $2.99 for a four ounce stick. That is a lot cheaper than other brands, and on the package, it promises to block sweat, respond fast, target bacteria, neutralize odor, and protect for 48 hours. That’s a long time, considering most deodorants are known for a twenty four hour period at the most. I was a bit skeptical, but due to its sale price and willingness to try something new, I decided to give it a chance.
I’m a fan of gels, because they don’t leave those telltale marks on your underarms. This deodorant is no different, as it glides on smooth, and instantly just disappears. The wheel that slides the gel up is easy to use, and a few spins dispenses plenty of this product for most uses. It goes on clear, and the orange top is a cinch to take on and off. There isn’t much to hold on to, so if you use this right after showering, be careful not let it slide out of your hands. Otherwise, its a shape that will fit in your palms, and the container is more than durable enough.
I really like this scent. While it does have that “Irish Spring” type of aroma that most “Fresh scents” have, there’s also hints of citrus. One unusual scent is a cedar like one, that at first takes sometime to get used to. Yet I think this is great, and its effective at blocking sweat associated odors after an extensive workout. It is very athletic, and will fit in with any type of cologne, whether casual or formal. The scent lasts for quite a few hours, and it will get rid of sweat odors. I like how it dries quickly enough not to saturate a shirt with the gel also, and think most people will find this to be a product that meets or exceeds their deodorizing needs.
This product is made by the Dial Corporation, and I’m glad to know its the “official deodorant of the NBA.” Perhaps I’ll become taller, or at least not double dribble as much when playing. The active ingredient is Aluminum Zirconium Octachlorohydrex GLY 16.0%, which is an antiperspirant. It also has water, alcohol denat, cyclomethicone, propylene glycol, dimethicone, trislloxane, calcium chloride, fragrance, and phenoxyethanol. I am a fan of this deodorant, and think its a fantastic value, due to its above average aroma and effectiveness against sweat. It means a lot for me to say this, but even after a rather strenuous workout, I’d feel comfortable going into a business meeting afterwards while wearing this. It is simply that effective, and if you are into fitness,it should be in your medicine cabinet or gym bag.
