Crivitz is a small village in Marinette County Wisconsin that is known for its outdoor activities like fishing, snowmobiling, white water rafting, hunting and many others. While we were passing through this small town we noticed a sign for Vacationland Fun Park and thought we would check it out to see what it was all about.
Vacationland is located at W11375 County Road X on the corner of Kottke Road and Newton Lake road. It was weird seeing a small amusement park here. There was not too much surrounding it, except a few houses, one restaurant and lots of wooded area. It was kind of out in the middle of no where.
Vacationland was super cheap to get into and all depended on what you wanted to ride or pay for. You could get a full day pass to unlimited rides along with a round of mini golf which was about $20 only. Once we got in, we realized that is was more catered to the younger kids. I would say anyone 9 years or younger would have a blast here, but for anyone older than that, I think they might be a little bored with the attractions that were offered.
There was a new wooden 1/3 of a mile race track with small Indy cars to race around in. Here they had 8 single car riders and 4 that could fit doubles and by doubles that meant an adult and a small child. I have to admit the track was kind of fun for me and the husband. It was even lined with lights so that you could race at night. When we were racing it seemed like all of the adults and older kids were constantly lining up to go again on this attraction. It was definately the main attraction of the day.
They also had bumper boats on a nice 36 inch deep small pool that offered 8 colorful double rider boats. We had fun on this because it cooled us off a little during the warm afternoon and who doesn’t like bumper boats. There were water guns attached to the boats so you could spray others also as you bumped in to them.
The Bumper cars area was enclosed under a roof and had about 10 hydraulic controlled cars to smash into your neighbors with. These were single or double riders also.
The park also included 2 small video arcades, go karts, coin operated kid rides throughout the park and a nice fenced in area for the little ones. In here was a sandbox, swings, slides, and a small house to play in. All of the little kids in here were having a blast running, screaming and playing.
The nice part of the park for us was the 18 holes mini golf. It was just a simple course with water hazards, sand pits and tunnels to make it more challenging but overall it was fun to play. Just for a round of golf, it cost only $5 to play. So I thought that was reasonable. The course is located in a beautiful wooded area that offers you some shade as you are playing. It is not the best mini golf course that I have played on, but it was ok and we had fun.
Across the street was a café called the Sportsman’s Café. Here they served a full menu with items like sandwiches, soups, salads, steaks, and many other items. It wasn’t anything spectacular for the menu or atmosphere. But it was a place to get an okay meal at a good price or to grab a cold beer or cocktail at a cheap price.
So if you have younger kids and are looking for a cheap way to spend a few hours having fun, I think that Vacationland would be the place for you! But like I said I am not sure how kids that are over the age of 10 years old would perceive the place. They might think it is too childish. But I do know that they would at least like the Indy Race Track. If you are ever in the area of Crivitz Wisconsin, it is at least worth it to stop and check it out once. You won’t be out that much money if the kids get bored with it!
