The Landing a popular area within Renton, Washington has welcomed its first Red Robin restaurant. Conveniently located on the corner of North 10th Street and Logan Avenue, and directly across from a popular aerospace employer this bright red building with its vibrant colored name showing proudly on top- stands out. Large double RR’s greet you on the front door. Minutes away from the east and southbound onramps to Interstate 405, this gourmet burger facility has become a popular stop for families, local employees, and residents of the Highlands, Bellevue, Kent, and South Seattle neighborhoods. For bus travelers the Metro 240, and Sound Transit 560, 564, and 565 will place you in the general vicinity of the Landing, but is still a fair walking distance to the restaurant.
With the expansion of this strip mall (Landing,) parking is plentiful. A large parking garage is located directly across from the restaurant as well. Upon exiting your vehicle, a delicious aroma greets your nostrils making you aware of what is awaiting you through the restaurant doors.
A small video area is located in the eastern corner upon entering the restaurant. Visitors can play video games such as(Ms. Pacman, Centipede,) or just try their luck at winning a toy. The continual bustling of sounds in this bright, open room provides for a fun, and exciting environment. Eight televisions are hoisted throughout the restaurant, so that no matter where you are seated, you can easily view the game without missing a minute. Wall to wall pictures are propped throughout the facility covering decades of celebrities and every day events in ones life. The southern wall features many captivating wallhangings and portraits, including a unique flag made solely from baseballs, a large Jackie Onassis picture, Steve McQueen… A couple of large carousel horses are added to the decor near the food preparation and beverage area, creating an outdoor, relaxing park feel.
The bar area with plentiful seating is aligned with numerous wood tables and stools, as well as seating around the bar area for approximately twelve individuals. Red Robin’s bar area has become a popular spot on many evenings for hanging out to enjoy appetizers such as (tower of onion rings,) and drinks. Included on the beverage list are Daiquiris, Nuclear Ice Tea, Mai Tai, Margaritas, Beer, Wine. Average drink cost is $6.00.
Voted as #1 by Zagat (surveys,) and recently labeled as the #1 family restaurant by the Renon Reporter (newspaper) this restaurant with the “insanely delicious gourmet burgers,” has something to offer everyone. With a selection of 14 varieties of burgers including: Peppercorn Burger (contains cheese, tomatoes, onions, and a peppercorn spread,) the popular Banzai Burger, Red Robin Cheeseburger, Teriyaki Chicken Burger…all of which can be customized to match your taste buds. Average burger cost is $8.00 and is severed with a “bottomless” supply of steak fries. Entrees cost between $10-$15 dollars. Beverages (sodas, lemonade, coffee) are also “bottomless,” so refills are free.
Chicken, Soups, Salads, Pasta, and tasty desserts such as (Apple Crisp, Mile High Mud Pie,) can also be found on the menu. A special childrens menu is available to keep the smallest taste buds happy. Birthdays are always a special event at this kid-friendly restaurant. The birthday individual receives a special performance of the Red Robin employees rendition of Happy Birthday with lots of clapping, as well as a free sundae.
The Red Robin mascot can be found making a special appearance throughout the restaurant on some days, taking the time to visit youngsters at their tables and providing them with a handshake, headrub, or hug if requested. Free balloons are available on a daily basis. Fridays after 5pm, a balloon maker (Marcel) brings balloons to life for children with his eye popping creations. Some of the choices he can create include (Mario from Super Mario Brothers, a ballerina, flamingo, monkey, hat…) This final free prize always adds an extra light and bright smile upon many faces.
