Students have the option of choosing from Corvettes or exotic cars such as Porsches, Ferrari, or Lamborghinis. Go kart racing school is another option for those on a tight budget. Unlike go-karts at amusement parks, these go-karts can get up to 50, 70 or over 100 miles per hour.

Skills Learned

Focus is also placed on quick reaction times, handling your vehicle and safe passing techniques.

Class Format
Most racing schools offer one-day, two-day or three-day classes. You can expect to spend some time in the classroom learning safety tips, getting an overview of the track you’ll be driving on and finding out the expectations of the specific driving school you are at. Rules vary from school to school. You’ll spend the rest of your time in the car on the track learning hands-on skills.

Other Important Details
Most racing schools will provide a vehicle for you to use during the class because you are more likely to push their cars to the limit than you own. Additionally, it allows the school more control because they know the shape that their vehicles are in and can be confident that you’ll be safe, rather than using your own car, which may need maintenance. Depending on the type of course you take, an instructor may accompany you in the car. Students need to be at least 16 years of age, have a valid drivers license, and at least six months driving experience. Damage liability varies from school to school. Some schools hold the student completely liable for damage, so consider signing up for an insurance program if there is one offered by the school. Class prices can vary between a few hundred dollars, all the way up to $5,000.
