Hitler was right when he said “The bigger the lie the more people will believe it.” I would then assume my title has gathered the entire nation behind it and falling into the “I believe it!” camp because it is a big one for sure. I go from laughing at their attempts at denying facts and reality to almost loathing them for their arrogance.
Thirteen months after the Tea Parties rose to prominence we are seeing their effects. Progressives are in huge trouble. I get a Progressive mouthpiece denying reality and I actually enjoy yelling at the TV as they lie in front of God and everybody as their noses grow to unbelievable lengths, but when media does it we move from political obfuscation to outright cheerleading.
It seems no matter what messages are sent – implied or direct – progressives refuse to accept that feces smells bad. I am pretty certain if every single Congressional progressive were tossed from office they would still refuse to step up and admit maybe it’s their message, agenda and manners of accomplishment. No, it’s just anti-incumbent fever, right friends.
I have a suggestion – keep score. To tell the truth from a progressive talking point is a simple endeavor. There are 435 House seats and about 33 Senate seats up for contention in November. The current House breakdown is 257 Democrats (progressives) and 178 Republicans, for a 53-44% margin in favor of Democrats.
When the November election is a memory and a reality, what will be the breakdown? Clearly the Republicans will pick up seats – most midterm elections see the “in power” party lose seats, especially if the “in power” party also holds the White House. But an anti-incumbency fervor would see BOTH parties lose roughly the same percentage of seats, yes? If when the chips have fallen Democrats and Republicans have about the same percentage of incumbents running for reelection that are defeated, then I will owe media and progressive mouthpieces an apology, and I’ll do it if I am wrong. Anyone taking bets?
Where is the smart money? There are political betting organizations that operate sorta like a stock market/futures trading house. People put their money on who they think will win or lose an election in the US. There is an odd occurrence that manifest when people do not merely forward their hopeful desires, but when they put their hard earned dollars down on it. The “markets” are usually dead on right.
Seems when one’s money is sacrificed instead of just their prognostication abilities, the “futures” results are damn near dead on to the actual voting results. Anyone wanna put their money where their mouths are? Wonder how many progressive dollars will be bet on their incumbents doing no worse than do Republican incumbents? Anyone?
Progressives and their media just refuse to tell the truth. Again, I get the progressive lying like a Persian rug, hoping against hope. They do so to not deflate the team’s morale. But what is media’s excuse? If media is really the non-biased Fourth Estate, wouldn’t truth and accuracy be their guiding hands? Media should have NO DOG in the fight, yet they cheerlead as if it were late in the fourth quarter and a field goal will win the day for their team.
Reality will show progressive arrogance was their undoing. The agenda is one that does not suit the vast majority of the nation and the progressives just refuse to accept that reality. Instead of governing as the voters demand they offered as much of their ancient wish list as possible, and despite voters resoundingly rejecting it, progressives went ahead on and passed what they could – they will pay with their political lives for their arrogance.
Mainstream media is already paying with their lives. Traditional broadcast and CNN & MSNBC news operations are collapsing in on themselves. Liberal newspapers and magazines are doing the same. Of course progressives will tell ya print media is declining due to electronic media and for no other reason. But how does that explain the collapse of CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN & MSNBC? Yet Fox News grows almost exponentially. Oh, that’s right, it’s we hate speech lovers married to Fox. Can you say BS?
If this is just “anti-incumbency” fervor, why is AG Holder under constant fire? He’s not an elected official. Neither is Homeland Security Chief Janet Napolitano, yet she is always neck deep in controversy.
For the record, when progressives were swept to big majorities on the Messianic coattails I maned up. I said it was due to Bush fatigue, as many voters identified it as such, but I was also rather clear in a series of articles that Republicans and conservatives had lost our way and were paying the electoral price for that misguided journey. Wouldn’t a little adult reciprocity from progressives have been refreshing?
I’m not sure progressives or mainstream media can tell the truth anymore. Are they pathological, no longer able to actually tell truth from their version of it? Or is this hope against hope, pretending that if they do not admit the blatantly obvious, maybe, just maybe they can convince the team to keep up the morale?
I am eager for November for two reasons – to save my nation from these people’s clearly anti-American, anti-Founding agenda and to see them hoist on their own petards. Being mistaken is one thing. Wishful thinking is another. Outright lying and refusing to admit what a year of national polling and the Tea Parties demonstrate is just plain lying, prevaricating and obfuscation.
Seemingly most politicians have an honesty problem, but to listen to progressives and their cheerleading media, this isn’t an honesty problem – it is dishonest along the lines of “You gonna believe me or are you gonna believe your lying eyes?” (and ears too?)
Do they have any clue that the more obstinate and intransigent progressives act about this, the more set our jaws become to rid us of their influences? It would seem “No, clearly they don’t get it.” But they will – I can promise ya they will. And what will be the petulant refrain then? Oh goody – something to look forward to.
