Primetime Emmy Award Nominations – Primetime Emmy Awards to Air Sunday August 29 on NBC

With the Daytime Emmy Award statues now safely tucked into Hollywood trophy cases, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Thursday morning (July 8, 2010) announced nominations for the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards.

Old favorites bidding farewell to TV audiences, such as ABC’s Lost, and popular newcomers such as HBO’s True Blood, CBS’s The Good Wife received nods in multiple high profile categories.

A quick scan of the list of nominations, printed below for high profile categories, for Dramas Comedies and Mine Series, highlights that cable television continues to gain traction over network television in the production of quality first run dramatic television. Network television, does continue to dominate the comedy category-for now.

The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards will air live at 8pm Eastern/5pm Pacific on Sunday August 29 on NBC, and be hosted by Jimmy Fallon.
