We have all been at least a little more over weight than we would have liked to have been at some point in our lives. A few weeks may go by with a little more fast food or t.v. than usual and all of the sudden we looked in the mirror and realized that we may be neglecting a healthy lifestyle. If you feel like you could shed a few pounds for your health or even self esteem, let me first say that it is not pure torture and resisting temptation the whole time, and it definitely does not (and should not) be expensive. It does require some determination and longstanding focus, but resisting the urge to eat can become a habit just as eating can. With this idea should also be kept in mind the understanding of nutrition. Of course, everyone needs to get a sufficient amount of vitamins and minerals to stay healthy, so moderation is definitely the key to losing weight sensibly. I have personally found this to be true.
I think the most important thing to do that probably most people don’t do each day is eat only three nutritious meals. I believe this is a very effective way of controlling weight gain while still maintaining our health. Our bodies may try to convince us otherwise for a little while if we have recently been eating snacks between meals, but I assure you it’s just doing it out of habit. Once our minds get off the craving for food, we realize we weren’t that hungry to begin with. Finding a hobby can be a great supplement to overeating!
Another thing that I’m sure is a big factor with weight gain is soda. There is just too much sugar and calories in them to supply a body/mind with proper nourishment. Cut soft drinks out of your daily diet and replace them with water and your favorite juices or even green teas, which can be a wide variety of beverages to choose from. I believe this small step alone can prove itself effective in loosing weight.
Also, eating before bedtime can be a subtle habit that creeps up on us. Pay close attention to not eating between dinner and going to bed, and you will be doing yourself a big favor on behalf of your goal. The body’s metabolism is just not that high while the body itself is inactive, even though it is still burning fat.
As far as exercise is concerned, a person does not need to buy a treadmill or get a gym membership to work off excess weight. Just fast paced walking for 15 or 20 minutes a day can help. Jumping jacks, push ups, and sit ups are also good exercises that will leave you feeling great!
Stay focused on your new lifestyle and you will see results. Don’t give up! And most importantly, don’t stress. Always remember, true beauty comes from the inside!
